Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Brady Hussey, 6-0 Jr. Nolan Ruthsatz, 6-9 Sr. Caden Miller, 5-11 So. Cash Harney, and 5-11 So. Athens McGillis. Archbishop Hoban coach TK Griffith countered with 6-3 Sr. Jonas Nichols, 6-3 Sr. Joey Hardman, 6-8 So. Sam Greer, 5-10 Jr. Kenny Scott, and 6-2 Fr. John Johnson.

Covington Catholic earned a 67-64 hard fought victory over Archbishop Hoban. Hoban raced out to a 17-8 first quarter score but Covington Catholic rallied to close within two; 17-15 at the end of the quarter with the game being tied four times and two lead changes. Covington Catholic shot 57.8% from the field including six of nine from the three point line. The Colonels connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 17 Archbishop Hoban turnovers. Hoban shot 43.1% from the field including 10 of 29 from beyond the arc. The Knights connected on 10 of 13 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 15 Covington Catholic turnovers.

Brady Hussey led Covington Catholic with 21 points including three three point baskets, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Caden Miller added 14 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and two blocked shots. Nolan Ruthsatz recorded 12 points including two three point baskets and three rebounds. Athens McGillis chipped in with 12 points, two rebounds, and seven assists.

Jonas Nichols led Archbishop Hoban with 25 points including two three point baskets, seven of eight free throws, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. John Johnson added 15 points on five three point baskets. Kenny Scott recorded eight points, five rebounds, and three assists. Sam Greer chipped in with eight points and four rebounds.
