Lexington Christian Acvademy coach Ted Hall started the following lineup: 6-5 Jr. Colt Cummins, 6-2 Jr. Hagan Preston, 6-5 So. Simon King, 6-0 Jr. Saxton Howard, and 6-2 Jr. Andersen Green. Western Hills coach Geoff Cody countered with 6-4 Jr. Elijah Thompson, 5-11 Sr. Austin Stone, 6-5 Jr. Javeon Campbell, 5-9 Jr. Cole McDonald, and 5-10 Jr. Cam Higgins.
Lexington Christian Academy trailed 42-41 at halftime but rallied in the second half and finally p[ulled away late for a 93-79 victory over Western Hills. The score was tied five times and there were seven lead changes in the game. Lexington Christian Academy shot a sizzling 61.1% from the field including three of 17 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on 24 of 31 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 18 Western Hills turnovers. Western Hills shot 56.6% from the field including nine of 19 from beyond the arc. The Wolverines connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 14 LCA turnovers.
Saxton Howard led LCA with 30 points including eight of nine free throws, four rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Andersen Green added 26 points including six of 10 free throws and three steals. Hagan Preston recorded 18 points including four of four free throws, five rebounds, and two assists. Simon King chipped in with five points and eight rebounds.
Elijah Thompson led Western Hills with 23 points including five three point baskets. Austin Stone added 20 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and five assists. Javeon Campbell recorded 18 points and five rebounds. Cam Higgins chipped in with nine points including two three point baskets. Cole McDonald recorded six points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
