Meade County (28-6) Region 3 vs. Boyd County (21-12) Region 16

Meade County coach Dina Hackert started the following lineup: 5-8 So. Annabelle Babb, 5-5 Sr. Aubrey Hardesty, 5-10 Jr. Katie Durbin, 5-4 Jr. Mattie Clanton, and 5-9 Fr. Peyton Bradley.  Boyd County coach Pete Fraley countered with 6-1 So. Audrey Biggs, 5-9 So. Taylor Bartrum, 6-2 So. Jasmine Jordan, 5-5 Fr. Isabella Opell, and 5-6 Fr. Emilee Neese.

 

Meade County rallied from 16 down in the third quarter to earn a 53-46 victory over Boyd County.  There were two ties and six lead changes in this game.  Boyd County led 29-16 at halftime as they dominated the boards.  Meade County utilized pressure defense after the intermission to get back in the game.  Meade County trailed 44-43 with 1:54 left in the game when a personal foul and a technical foul was called on Boyd County.  Meade Counted connected on all four free throws to take a 47-44 lead and never trailed the remainder of the game.  Meade County shot 32% from the field including six of 17 from the three point line.  The Green Wave connected on 15 of 17 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 23 Boyd County turnovers.  Boyd County shot 29.5% from the field including five of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Lions connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored three points off 14 Meade County turnovers.

 

Peyton Bradley led Meade County with 23 points including four three point baskets, nine of 10 free throws, and five rebounds.  Katie Durbin added 10 points, four rebounds, two blocked shots, and two steals.  5-5 So. Paige Medley recorded six points and four rebounds.  Mattie Clanton dished out six assists.

 

Audrey Biggs led Boyd County with 17 points including seven of seven free throws, nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Emilee Neese added 15 points on five three point baskets.  Jasmine Jordan recorded 11 points including seven of eight free throws, 11 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Taylor Bartrum and Isabella Opell each pulled down eight rebounds.
