Madison Southern vs. Great Crossing (Boys)

Madison Southern coach Austin Newton started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Trent DeVries, 5-9 Sr. Jayden Adams, 6-4 So. Brett Erslan, 5-8 Jr. Walt Smith, and 5-9 So. Zach Hudson.  Great Crossing coach Steve Page countered with 6-2 Fr. Vince Dawson, 6-2 Jr. Tye Schureman, 6-4 Jr. Kalib Perry, 5-7 Jr. Junius Burrell, and 5-10 Jr. Carson Walls.

 

Madison Southern defeated Great Crossing 85-81 in overtime.  The score was tied 10 times and there were 18 lead changes in the game.  Madison Southern shot 53.3% from the field including 10 of 21 from the three point line.  The Eagles connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 14 Great Crossing turnovers.  Great Crossing shot 53.7% from the field including 10 of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Warhawks connected on 13 of 15 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored three points off 10 Madison Southern turnovers.

 

Trent DeVries led Madison Southern with 35 points including four three point baskets and seven of 11 free throws.  6-1 So. Jay Rose added 18 points including three three point baskets, three rebounds, and four assists.  Brett Erslan recorded 10 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.

 

Junius Burrell led Great Crossing with 28 points including six three point baskets.  Kalib Perry added 13 points and seven rebounds.  Carson Walls recorded 13 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, and three assists.  Vince Dawson chipped in with 12 points, two rebounds, and two assists.
