Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz started the following lineup: 6-6 So. Chandler Starks, 6-4 Sr. Donovan Stocks, 6-7 Jr. Mitchell Rylee, 5-9 So. Evan Ipsaro, and 6-3 Jr. Walker Horn.  Highlands coach Kevin Listerman countered with 6-3 Sr. Sam Vinson, 6-3 Jr. Oliver Harris, 6-5 Sr. Luke Muller, 5-9 So. William Herald, and 5-9 Jr. Zachary Barth.

 

Covington Catholic raced out to a 25-9 first quarter lead on their way to an 81-65 victory over Highlands.  Covington Catholic shot 58.8% from the field including five of 13 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 16 of 23 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and committed 12 turnovers.  Highlands shot 55.3% from the field including six of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Bluebirds connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 13 rebounds, and committed 10 turnovers.

 

Mitchell Rylee led Covington Catholic with 23 points and 14 rebounds.  Chandler Starks added 22 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, and four steals.  Donovan Stocks recorded 19 points including three three point baskets, six of six free throws, five rebounds, and two assists.  Evan Ipsaro chipped in with nine points including five of six free throws, two rebounds, and six assists.

 

Sam Vinson led Highlands with 25 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Luke Muller added 10 points including two three point baskets.  Oliver Harris recorded nine points, three rebounds, and two steals.  Zachary Barth chipped in with eight points and three rebounds.
