Lafayette coach Micheal Mendenhall III started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Campbell DeYoung, 6-2 Sr. Daniel Kinley, 6-5 Jr. Abe Nelson, 5-10 Sr. Kobe Blake, and 5-10 Sr. Will Stanfield. Frederick Douglass coach Jason Moseley countered with 6-6 Jr. Tyson Barrett, 6-4 Sr. Connor Haga, 6-7 Sr. Shemar O’Roy-Ford, 6-0 Jr. Kai Simpson, and 6-3 Sr. DaShawn Jackson
Frederick Douglass defeated Lafayette by the score of 92-59. Frederick Douglass shot 54.4% from the field including eight of 23 from the three point line. The Broncos connected on 10 of 11 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 19 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 37.3% from the field including three of 17 from beyond the arc. The Generals connected on 12 of 22 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 18 Frederick Douglass turnovers.
Tyson Barrett led Frederick Douglass with 24 points, 20 rebounds, two assists, and five blocked shots. Barrett was 11 of 13 from the field including one of one from beyond the arc, and one of one free throws. Kai Simpson added 24 points including two three point baskets and two steals. DaShawn Jackson recorded 22 points including three three point baskets, seven rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
Abe Nelson led Lafayette with 10 points and four rebounds. Campbell DeYoung and 6-2 Sr. Torri Turner each recorded nine points.
