University Tennessee Martin coach Anthony Stewart started the following lineup: 6-8 Sr. Fatodd Lewis, 6-3 So. Parrish Hewitt, 6-8 Sr. Jailen Gill, 5-10 Sr. Delfincko Bogan, and 6-0 Sr. Kevin Little. Eastern Kentucky University coach A.W. Hamilton countered with 6-8 Fr. Tre King, 6-2 Jr. Kelvin Robinson, 6-9 Sr. Nick Mayo, 5-10 Jr. Dujuanta Weaver, and 6-4 Fr. Houston King.
Eastern Kentucky University got off to a fast start leading 55-30 at halftime on their way to a 97-73 victory over University Tennessee Martin. Eastern Kentucky shot 48.7% from the field including 15 of 34 from the three point line. The Colonels connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 31 points off 23 University Tennessee Martin turnovers. UT Martin shot 41.9% from the field including seven of 19 from beyond the arc. The Skyhawks connected on 14 of 20 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 13 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.
Dujuanta Weaver led Eastern Kentucky with 18 points on six three point baskets, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Houston King added 16 points including four three point baskets. 6-2 Fr. Jomaru Brown recorded 14 points and five steals. Nick Mayo added 13 points, six rebounds, four assists, three blocked shots, and three steals. Tre King recorded eight points and nine rebounds. Kelvin Robinson added eight points, eight assists, and three steals.
Jailen Gill led UT Martin with 19 points including seven of seven free throws and eight rebounds. Fatodd Lewis added 14 points and seven rebounds. Kevin Little also scored 14 points including two three point baskets and three assists. 6-2 Jr. Preston Park added 13 points including three three point baskets, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
