Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts started the following lineup:  5-11 So. Bria Bass, 5-10 Fr. Hailey McCoy, 6-2 So. Brittany Grice, 5-5 Fr. Mashayla Cecil, and 5-8 Jr. Shay Solomon.  Tennessee State University coach Jessica Kern countered with 5-11 So. Taylor Roberts, 5-10 So. Jaden Wrightsell, 6-0 Sr. Tia Wooten, 5-7 So. Andreana Wrister, and 5-7 Sr. Lauren Elliot.

Eastern Kentucky led 16-15 after the first quarter but it was all Tennessee State after that as the Tigers rolled to a 60-38 victory over Eastern Kentucky.  Tennessee State shot 35% from the field including five of 22 from the three point line.  The Tigers connected on 13 of 21 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 23 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 29.8% from the field including four of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored five points off 10 Tennessee state turnovers.

Tia Wooten led a balanced Tennessee State scoring attack with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists.  Taylor Roberts added 13 points.  5-6 Fr. Terrysha Banner recorded 13 points including four three point baskets.  Jaden Wrightsell chipped in with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and four steals.

Mashayla Cecil led Eastern Kentucky with nine points.  Shay Solomon added seven points.  Hailey McCoy recorded two points, nine rebounds, and five assists.
