Lexington Christian Academy coach Nate Valentine started the following lineup: 6-7 Sr. Carter Hendrickson, 6-7 Jr. Kyle Rode, 6-6 Sr. Austin Hall, 6-2 Jr. Isaiah Hunt, and 6-2 So. Will Hacker. Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-6 Jr. Brice Scott, 6-3 Sr. TC Price, 6-7 Sr. Max Sparkman, 6-0 Sr. Keegan Bailey, and 6-1 Fr. Ben Johnson. (Note: 6-5 Sr. Zan Payne out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury).
Lexington Christian Academy made a late comeback to defeat Lexington Catholic by a score of 53-52. Lexington Catholic had a 52-50 lead with eight seconds remaining and the ball. Lexington Catholic attempted to throw a long pass that was deflected by Kyle Rode and intercepted by Carter Hendrickson who scored on a layup, was fouled and hit the ensuing free throw. Lexington Catholic got the ball back with 3.4 seconds left on the clock and missed on a late three point attempt. There were 12 lead changes and seven ties in this game.
Lexington Christian Academy shot 53.7% from the field including five of 17 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on four of seven free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 10 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 45.2% from the field including 11 of 22 from beyond the arc. The Knights connected on three of five free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 11 points off eight LCA turnovers.
Carter Hendrickson led LCA with 16 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Kyle Rode added 15 points, five rebounds, and eight assists. Austin Hall recorded 10 points, five rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.
Ben Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 25 points including seven three point baskets, four rebounds, and two assists. TC Price added 13 points. Keegan Bailey recorded 10 points including three three point baskets. Max Sparkman chipped in with four points, five rebounds, six assists, and one blocked shot.
