Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts started the following lineup: 6-0 Jr. Joya Smith, 5-11 Jr. Abby Wright, 6-1 Jr. Jalisa Smith, 5-8 Jr. A’Queen Hayes, and 5-11 Fr. Bria Bass. Southeast Missouri coach Rekha Patterson countered with 5-10 So. Jessie Harshberger, 5-11 Sr. Deja Jones, 6-1 Sr. Mandy Madden, 5-3 Jr. Adrianna Murphy, and 5-10 Fr. Tesia Thompson.
Southeast Missouri scored 34 points off 35 Eastern Kentucky turnovers in a 69-55 victory. SEMO shot 52.2% from the field including two of five from the three point line. The Redhawks connected on 19 of 30 free throws and pulled down 25 rebounds. Eastern Kentucky University shot 40.4% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc. The Colonels connected on 13 of 16 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 22 SEMO turnovers.
Tesia Thompson led SEMO with 23 points including 10 of 14 free throws, four rebounds, three assists, and six steals. Adraianna Murphy added 17 points, four rebounds, five assists, and seven steals. Deja Jones recorded 11 points, six rebounds, and five steals. 6-4 Fr. LaTrese Saine chipped in with 10 points and two blocked shots.
Abby Wright led Eastern Kentucky University with 18 points including two three point baskets, eight rebounds, and two steals. A’Queen Hayes added 13 points and nine rebounds. Bria Bass recorded 12 points including seven of seven free throws and six rebounds.
