Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts started the following lineup: 5-11 Fr. Bria Bass, 5-11 Jr. Abby Wright, 6-2 Jr. Madison Pierce, 5-8 Jr. A’Queen Hayes, and 5-8 So. Shay Solomon.  Jacksonville State University coach Rick Pietri countered with 6-0 Sr. Tasha Magruder, 5-9 Fr. Kiana Johnson, 6-2 Jr. Rayven Pearson, 5-6 Fr. Taylor Hawks, and 5-8 Sr. Gretchen Morrison.

 

Jacksonville State raced out to an 18-7 first quarter lead on their way to a 65-51 victory over Eastern Kentucky.  Jacksonville State shot 36.2% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line.  The Gamecocks connected on 19 of 28 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 15 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 31.1% from the field including three of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 10 of 17 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 13 Jacksonville State turnovers.

 

Taylor Hawks led Jacksonville State with 18 points including two three point baskets and eight of nine free throws.  6-1 Sr. Tyler Phelion added 14 points, seven rebounds, and four blocked shots.  6-1 So. Chloe Long recorded 11 points and four rebounds.  Rayven Pearson added seven points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots.

 

Abby Wright led Eastern Kentucky with 14 points including seven of eight free throws, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Bria Bass added 11 points including two three point baskets.  Shay Solomon chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots.  A’Queen Hayes recorded seven points and eight rebounds.
