Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown started the following lineup: 6-2 Jr. Harris Hawkins, 6-1 Sr. Jalen Williams, 6-4 Sr. Andreus Green, 5-10 So. Marquez Warrick, and 6-0 Jr. Keaston Brown.  Frederick Douglass coach Kurt Young countered with 6-3 Sr. Justin Mitchell, 6-1 Fr. DeShawn Jackson, 6-5 So. Bilal Chhadh, 5-9 Fr. Trent Grundy, and 6-1 So. Amirion Joyce.

 

Henry Clay raced out to a 27-12 first quarter lead on their way to a 93-75 victory over Frederick Douglass.  Henry Clay shot 52.7% from the field including five of 17 from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on 30 of 45 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 21 Frederick Douglass turnovers.  Frederick Douglass shot 42.4% from the field including six of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Broncos connected on 19 of 25 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 16 Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Jalen Williams led Henry Clay with 24 points and eight rebounds.  Keaston Brown added 18 points including two three point baskets and eight of eight free throws.  Marquez Warrick recorded 15 points.  Harris Hawkins added 13 points including six of seven free throws.  Andreus Green chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds.  5-9 Jr. Ramond Jackson recorded eight points, five rebounds, and four assists.

 

Justin Mitchell led Frederick Douglass with 23 points including eight of 10 free throws, four rebounds, and four assists.  6-2 Jr. Jayden Brown added 14 points and five rebounds.  Amirion Joyce recorded 13 points.
