Lexington Catholic defeated Lafayette by a score of 25-0 in a game that surprised many if for nothing else the score.  This game was played in the rain and Lafayette was without QB/RB Teandre Newcomb and Lexington Catholic was without the services of RB Dameon Jones.  Lexington Catholic went to a hard nosed running attack tonight led by Keith Brinkman and Dylan Coulter who combined for 259 yards and three touchdowns on 44 carries.  Lexington Catholic recorded 17 first downs and 278 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized three times for 15 yards.  Lafayette recorded 12 first downs and 266 yards.  The Generals were penalized seven times for 62 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Keith Brinkman led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 187 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries.  Dylan Coulter carried the ball 14 times for 72 yards and a touchdown.  Beau Allen completed three of five passes for 22 yards and one touchdown.  Luke Powell caught two passes for 16 yards and a touchdown.  Clay Callahan led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles.  Justin Tackett added four solo and three assisted tackles.  Dylan Coulter recorded four solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 10 yards.  Brennan Emmett and Ryan Mattingly each recovered a fumble and Henry Holthaus intercepted a pass he returned 16 yards.

Ean Shaw led Lafayette’s ground game with 79 yards on 12 carries.  Cameron Morgan carried the ball nine times for 67 yards.  Drake Nelson completed four of 12 passes for 76 yards with one interception.  Caylon Williams caught two passes for 15 yards.  Matthew Guilfoil added one reception for 62 yards.  Austin Blake led the defense with 12 solo and two assisted tackles.  Abeid Hussein recorded seven solo and three assisted tackles with 3.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 16 yards. Ean Shaw recorded six solo and two assisted tackles.
