Madison Central vs. Clay County (Girls)

Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Lindsey Johns, 5-10 Sr. Charity Mack, 6-0 Sr. Mallie Cornett, 5-4 Jr. Bailee Vanover, and 5-7 Sr. Kasi Schneid.  Clay County coach James Burchell countered with 5-6 So. Shelby Phillips, 5-5 So. Kimberlyn Mills, 5-9 So. Summer Parker, 5-4 8th Grade Taylor Asher, and 5-9 Fr. Kaylee Mathis.

 

Madison Central defeated Clay County by a score of 46-37.  Madison Central shot 40% from the field including four of 13 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored seven points off seven Clay County turnovers.  Clay County shot 28.3% from the field including five of 24 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Tigers connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored two points off eight Madison Central turnovers.

 

Lindsey Johns led Madison Central with 17 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and three steals.  Kasi Schneid added 10 points and nine rebounds.  Bailee Vanover recorded nine points, four rebounds, and three assists.  Mallie Cornett added eight points, six rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Charity Mack pulled down seven rebounds.

 

Kaylee Mathis led Clay County with 14 points and six rebounds.  Summer Parker added 11 points and seven rebounds.  Kimberlyn Mills recorded six points and four rebounds.
