Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 5-10 So. Macey Goff, 5-9 So. Lindi DeBilzan, 6-0 So. Kiara Pankins, 5-6 Jr. Terri Abram, and 5-9 Jr. Caroline Bennett.  Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Nick Runyon countered with 5-11 Sr. Autumn Herriford, 5-9 Jr. Anaiyah Cotton, 5-9 Jr. Peyton Humphreys, 5-6 Jr. Mashayla Cecil, and 5-8 So. Cheyenne Fullwood.

 

Mashayla Cecil nailed a late three point basket to give Dunbar a 53-51 lead with 44 seconds remaining in the game on their way to a 57-51 victory over Lafayette.  This snapped Lafayette’s 33 game 43rd district winning streak.  Dunbar shot 43.1% from the field including three of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 21 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 46.3% from the field including three of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Generals connected on 10 of 21 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 18 Dunbar turnovers.

 

Mashayla Cecil led Dunbar with 19 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Autumn Herriford added 14 points, five rebounds, and four steals.  Peyton Humphreys chipped in with 13 points.

 

Kiara Pankins led Lafayette with 14 points, five rebounds, and three steals.  Lindi DeBilzan also scored 14 points, four rebounds, and three steals.  Caroline Bennett recorded 11 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, and three steals.
