Wayne County coach Tim Pyles started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Ashton Bell, 5-8 Jr. Hannah Jackson, 5-10 Sr. Megan Burchett, 5-7 8th Grade Macey Blevins, and 5-7 Sr. Taylor Bell. Russell County coach Craig Pippen countered with 5-10 So. Madelyn Preston, 5-9 Sr. Kailey Coffee, 6-3 Jr. LaShaya Carman, 5-6 Jr. Amelia Ackerman, and 5-8 So. Addison Loy.
Russell County defeated Wayne County by a score of 68-54. Russell County shot 44% from the field including six of 17 from the three point line. The Lady Lakers connected on 14 of 21 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored two points off six Wayne County turnovers. Wayne County shot 30% from the field including eight of 25 from beyond the arc. The Lady Cardinals connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored three points and four Russell County turnovers.
Addison Loy led Russell County with 17 points including four three point baskets. LaShaya Carman added 15 points and eight rebounds. Amelia Ackerman chipped in with 14 points including six of eight free throws. Madelyn Preston recorded 11 points and 10 rebounds. 5-7 So. Jaylen Elmore added 10 points and six rebounds.
Hannah Jackson led Wayne County with 16 points including four three point baskets and six rebounds. Macey Blevins added 13 points. Ashton Bell and Taylor Bell chipped in with nine and eight points respectively.
