Bourbon County vs. Madison Central (Girls)

Bourbon County coach Bill Watson started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Chariss Wilson, 5-7 So. Grace Hardy, 6-2 Sr. Rose Mason, 5-6 Jr. Millie Evans, and 5-7 So. Kennedy Kelly.  Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey countered with 5-10 Sr. Lindsey Johns, 5-10 Sr. Charity Mack, 6-0 Sr. Mallie Cornett, 5-4 Jr. Bailee Vanover, and 5-7 Sr. Kasi Schneid.

 

Madison Central rallied from a season opening loss to Pulaski County with a 67-40 victory over Bourbon County tonight.  Madison Central raced out to a 27-2 first quarter lead and was never threatened tonight.  Madison Central shot 42.2% from the field including seven of 22 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 21 Bourbon County turnovers.  Bourbon County shot 30% from the field including two of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 14 Madison Central turnovers.

 

Lindsey Johns led Madison Central with 23 points, eight rebounds, and seven steals.  Bailee Vanover added 12 points, four rebounds, 10 assists, and six steals.  Charity Mack chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds, and five assists.  5-4 So. Madison Barnard added 10 points including two three point baskets.  Mallie Cornett recorded six points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.

 

Chariss Wilson led Bourbon County with 17 points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Rose Mason added nine points and seven rebounds.
