Western Kentucky University coach Rick Stansbury started the following lineup: 6-7 Jr. Justin Johnson, 6-6 Sr. Que Johnson, 7-1 Sr. Ben Lawson, 6-4 Sr. Pancake Thomas, and 6-5 Sr. Junior Lomomba.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale countered with 6-7 Jr. Zach Charles, 6-4 Sr. Jaylen Babb-Harrison, 6-9 So. Nick Mayo, 6-2 Fr. Parker Chitty, and 6-2 Sr. Isaac McGlone.

 

Eastern Kentucky connected on 13 three point baskets on their way to a 78-59 victory over Western Kentucky tonight.  This ended a 13 game losing streak against the Hilltoppers dating back to 1987.  Eastern Kentucky shot 50.9% from the field including 13 of 29 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 13 Western Kentucky turnovers.  Western Kentucky shot 38.1% from the field including five of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Hilltoppers connected on 22 of 29 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 14 points off nine Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

5-11 Fr. Asante Gist led Eastern Kentucky with 19 points including three three point baskets and four rebounds.  Nick Mayo added 14 points, three rebounds, five assists, and two blocked shots.  Isaac McGlone also scored 14 points including four three point baskets.  Jaylen Babb-Harrison recorded 13 points including three three point baskets, seven rebounds, and three steals.

 

Justin Johnson led Western Kentucky with 18 points and eight rebounds.  Junior Lomomba added 15 points including nine of 12 free throws.  Que Johnson recorded 13 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and three assists.
