Doss coach Tony Williams started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Tyler Jefferson, 5-10 Sr. Dajon McCarley, 5-9 Jr. Nick Anderson, 5-6 Jr. Dujuanta Weaver, and 6-0 Sr. Terrell Gray. Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz countered with 6-4 Jr. Andy Flood, 6-2 Sr. Grant Romes, 6-6 Sr. Bo Schuh, 6-1 So. Cole VonHandorf, and 6-1 Sr. Cooper Theobald.
Covington Catholic outscored Doss 18-7 in the final quarter to pull away for a 61-48 victory. Covington Catholic shot 44.2% from the field including one of eight from the three point line. The Colonels connected on 22 of 32 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and committed 12 turnovers. Doss shot 34.6% from the field including four of 21 from beyond the arc. The Dragons connected on eight of 13 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and committed 11 turnovers.
Cole VonHandorf led a balanced Covington Catholic scoring attack with 17 points including nine of 10 free throws. Bo Schuh added 13 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three blocked shots. Andy Flood recorded 11 points and six rebounds. Cooper Theobald also scored 11 points.
6-5 So. Ramon Collins led Doss with 11 points. Collins was five of five from the field and one of one from the free throw line. Dujuanta Weaver added 10 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Nick Anderson chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets. Terrell Gray recorded seven points and five rebounds.
