Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Lucky Jackson, 5-10 Jr. Jaelin Jenkins, 6-6 Jr. Ross Jenkins, 5-10 So. Jajuante Carpenter, and 5-11 Jr. Harrison Lane. Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 Sr. Tanner Johnson, 6-3 Sr. Reese Ryan, 6-5 Sr. Walker Boothe, 5-10 Sr. Michael Talbott, and 6-2 Sr. Jarod Griffin.
Jarod Griffin hit a three point basket from the wing with 1:30 left in the third overtime to give Lexington Catholic a 50-49 victory over Lafayette. There were six lead changes and 12 ties in this game. Lexington Catholic shot 36.2% from the field including five of 21 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 34.5% from the field including four of 27 from beyond the arc. The Generals connected on seven of 15 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 15 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Jarod Griffin led Lexington Catholic with 17 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds. Tanner Johnson added 15 points including two three point baskets and eight rebounds. Reese Ryan recorded seven points and seven rebounds.
Ross Jenkins led Lafayette with 17 points, 14 rebounds, and five blocked shots. Harrison Lane added nine points and four assists. Jajuante Carpenter chipped in with eight points, five rebounds, and three assists. Lucky Jackson recorded six points, seven rebounds, and five assists.
