Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Sarah Cooley, 5-11 Jr. Dee Givens, 6-4 Jr. Ashanti Thomas, 5-8Sr. Ken’yale Demus, and 5-11 Fr. Kiara Pankins.  Franklin County coach Joey Thacker countered with 5-8 So. Dasia Kilbourne, 5-8 Fr. Rebecca Cook, 5-9 So. Malaka Frank, 5-4 Sr. Nannilena White, and 5-6 Fr. Princess Stewart.

Lafayette defeated Franklin County by a score of 63-54.  This was a game of runs as Lafayette led 21-9 after the first quarter but Franklin County rallied to lead 27-25 at halftime.  Lafayette surged again and led 42-34 after three quarters and held on for the victory.

Lafayette shot 35.6% from the field including six of 14 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 25 of 39 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 17 Franklin County turnovers.  Franklin County shot 50% from the field including three of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Flyers connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 11 Lafayette turnovers.  Franklin County had three players foul out tonight- Malaka Frank, Princess Stewart, and Rebecca Cook.

Dee Givens led Lafayette with 26 points including four three point baskets, 11 rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Kiara Pankins added 18 points including 11 of 14 free throws and eight rebounds.

Malaka Frank led Franklin County with 18 points.  Nannilena White added 15 points including seven of eight free throws.  Dasia Kilbourne chipped in with 11 points.  Princess Stewart recorded five points, 11 rebounds, and four assists.
