Mercy Academy coach Keith Baisch started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Kathryn Gross, 5-8 So. Erin Muthler, 6-0 Jr. Malerie Martin, 5-3 So. Jess Laemmle, and 5-6 Jr. Hannah Bewley. Bullitt East coach Chris Stallings countered with 5-9 Sr. Courtney Pfister, 5-8 Fr. Lindsey Duvall, 5-9 Sr. Mackenzie Bass, 5-4 Sr. Emily Fryman, and 5-7 Sr. Taylor Blain.
Mercy Academy trailed 32-30 at halftime but rallied to defeat Bullitt East by a score of 66-59. Mercy Academy shot 42.5% from the field including 10 of 21 from the three point line. The Jaguars connected on 22 of 25 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored three points off 15 Bullitt East turnovers. Bullitt East shot 35.5% from the field including four of 17 from beyond the arc. The Lady Chargers connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored seven points off 21 Mercy Academy turnovers.
Malerie Martin led Mercy Academy with 30 points including four three point baskets, 11 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Hannah Bewley added 13 points including four three point baskets and six rebounds. Kathryn Gross chipped in with seven points.
Lindsey Duvall led Bullitt East with 14 points and five rebounds. Mackenzie Bass added 10 points and six rebounds. Taylor Blain recorded 10 points and eight steals. Emily Fryman chipped in with six points and four assists.
