Sayre coach Ted Hall started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. Reid Freeman, 5-9 Sr. Griffin Miller, 6-6 So. Ray Brewer, 5-10 Sr. Cabot Haggin, and 5-9 So. Mike Smith.  Model coach Wes Scarberry countered with 6-4 so. Tyler Reeder, 5-10 Jr. Hunter Conner, 6-4 So. Jon Ballard, 5-10 So. AJ Hammons, and 5-9 Sr. Dennis Smith.

Model led 49-48 after three quarters but Sayre rallied in the final quarter to earn a 78-68 victory.  Sayre shot 49% from the field including two of 12 from the three point line.  The Spartans connected on 28 of 35 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 20 Model turnovers.  Model shot 44.9% from the field including nine of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Patriots connected on 15 of 20 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored seven points off 16 Spartan turnovers.

Mike Smith led Sayre with 27 points.  Ray Brewer added 23 points and 11 rebounds.  Reid Freeman and 6-3 Sr. Griffin Miller chipped in with 11 and 10 points respectively.

Dennis Smith led Model with 20 points and six rebounds.  6-2 Jr. Cody Sizemore added 15 points and nine rebounds.  6-2 Jr. Brandon Thomas recorded 12 points on four three point baskets.  AJ Hammons chipped in with 10 points.
