Currently the trainers use primarily lectures and paper handouts for their instruction. There is a very little interaction between instructor and employees. The trainers have not grasped any technology advantages within their classroom. They lack the connection needed to keep the students attention. Our recommendations:
- add hands-on team activities to engage the learner and maintain attention levels.
“ Over 122 studies conducted between 1924 and 1981 provide clear evidence that cooperative learning experiences promote higher achievement than their competitive or individualistic counterparts” (Johnson, 1985).
- The trainers should add spice to classrooms with tools such as PowerPoint and multimedia including video, graphics, and sound.
“Among the general strategies by which these senses can be engaged in the learning process are role play, dramatization, cooperative games, simulations, creative movement and dance, multi-sensory activities, manipulatives and hands-on projects” (UND, 2003).
