Once more, with feeling
I'm not really updating until tomorrow (I'm off, so come back for three days worth of "The Book" and more), but I didn't want to lose this headline and the chance for the joke I thought of to follow it. Ready? Alright.

From Yahoo! News: Video Games Make Kids Fat, Violent, Swedish Experts Say

And my joke:
Video games never made me fat, violent, or Swedish!

Da-da-dum.

Feels like I'm starting all over again / The last three years are just pretend
Mood:  lyrical
Now Playing: 'Goodbye to You' / Michelle Branch
Current awesome up-and-coming band you should check out (if you can actually find any of their material)? The Little Willies.

New in TBWCAL, we have days Fifty-Eight - Family Skills Day - and Day Fifty-Nine - Psychic Day!

Just from hearing other people talk (stupidly) tonight, I'm glad now more than ever that I'm a pacifist.

I'm actually listening to the Michelle Branch-programmed radio station on MTV.com (which seems to be the only decent thing on MTV.com), and I'm kinda (but not totally surprised). Cat Stevens, "Pretty in Pink," Audioslave, "Why Don't We Do It in the Road," and... the Dixie Chicks. Interesting.

I seem to have no trouble finding crazy teacher news nowadays. A teacher made a male student wear a dress as punishment. Granted, depending on who you ask...

I'm probably the only person in the world excited about a sequel to the classic Deuce Bigalow, Male Gigolo.

I should've known the lovely Landover Baptist would be all over The Passion.

Alright, NOW I'm scared. Book coming this October - and no, I'm not making this up - The O'Reilly Factor For Kids - A Survival Guide.

And, as a sidenote, something else I found while digging through the old AO...
Now Playing: 'Don't Touch Me' by Brak
Whoa! Hey! Don't touch me!

Best. Ad campaign. Ever.

So what to do with the rest of the day's afternoon
Mood:  bright
Now Playing: 'Stay or Leave' by Dave & Tim live

They say it's your birthday.

See that banner at the top of the page? It's made by Lissa. Lissa rocks. It's one of SEVENTY-SIX banners made for Andy Online a few years ago, and I'm bringin' 'em back! And I want more! Check out the Banner Bonanza for the gallery plus info on how to add to the collection. And no, I really can't explain the mass collection of Britney Spears banners people made me.

New in This Book Will Change Andy's Life, we have Day Fifty-Six (Rock 'n' Roll Day) and Day Fifty-Seven (Scary Food Day), with bonus Mr. T goodness!

If I ever make it into the teaching world, I promise to not be stupid.

The new Rolling Stone has all kinds of Andy-friendly goodness. There's the picture of Norah Jones on that page, for one thing (and an article with a defective link with more, probably). Then there's the cover story on OutKast.

I saw her standing there
Mood:  d'oh
Now Playing: The Beatles tribute from the Grammys... first time hearing it (it's... 'eh')

NEW ON THE AO:
TBWCAL: Day Fifty-Five - Pancake Day!
Photos That Didn't Make The Cut: ten new ones

Presidente Bush has been accused of an anti-gay stance. Well, duh.

Christian music... with an 80's flair!

Crossfire was one of my favorite games ever as a kid. I just sat on the floor and shot balls at my opponent. But, you know, in a better sounding way.

Sadly, the end of the year will mark the end of the Simpsons toy line from Playmates (boo!). Some other company will pick 'em up and probably do twice as well, but it's still no good.

The world is a vampire
Now Playing: I just told you in the TBWCAL entry, silly goose

Rarely, if ever, do I ever actually miss having access to regular TV. Angel as a puppet is one of those moments that makes me miss it.

New for the site:
This Book Will Change Andy's Life: Day Fifty-Four - Farts Day

Enough is enough and it's time for a change! (I still miss the ol' King of Harts)
Mood:  cheeky
Now Playing: Norah

Days Fifty (Noticing Day) and Fifty-One (Sense-less Day #1) are up in This Book Will Change Andy's Life.

Simon Cowell will be guest-starring on this weekend's Simpsons. I will not see it, because I have no access. And I'll be working. I'll see it when the season comes out on DVD... in FORTY YEARS!!!

For you fathers and/or Beatles fans out there, there's a new book out that might interest you.

Sadly, the idea of a topless coffee shop might not happen. There goes my next job choice. Then again, seeing as how I burn myself on a daily basis in the first place...

An Iowa State S&M club is facing discipline. Sometimes these things just write themselves!

Continuing with stories that make me wonder if CGCC is just missing out, a professor at Mars Hill College has resigned after a student took him up on his offer for an A in his sociology class if they disrobed in class.

Curry Kit-Kat? Ewww.

Tourdates have been announced for the yearly round of Dave Matthews Band summer touring. So, who's going on July 27th to the Atlanta show with me? I'm recruiting. (Whether I actually make it there or not is debatable, but hey... if somebody will actually go with me, I'm there.)

You know, I broke down and downloaded William Hung's rendition of "She Bangs", and he is indeed as great as the recent hype says. Take that, Cowell!

Only because I'll forget when I do the real update tonight...

As mentioned in this here article, large groups of foreigners have been visiting the Brunswick area in preparations for the G8 Summit this summer.

I like how the article starts with, "Would a stop in Glynn County be complete without a visit to a shopping center and a coffee break?." They, however, neglected to mention that the shopping center was Golden Isles Plaza and that freakin' Joe Muggs was the coffee break! As if we can't be slow enough in the cafe as it is, here's a gigantic line of Italians! Woowoo! (Nothing against Italians, of course.)

More tonight... "The Book" and more!

I like hubcaps
Mood:  amorous
Now Playing: Randomness... total, absolute randomness
Update!: It was suggested to me earlier that I should write an article for the CGCC paper declaring my candidancy. I did back in the October 2000 issue! I actually did it in response to fellow staff writer BJ's declaration. Here's his, and then mine. And as a bonus (I'll be unearthing more of my articles, now that I found them online again), this is my favorite article that I wrote while at Georgia Southern, and one of the rare few that wasn't at least a little serious (I was actually writing newspaper-quality articles there!). Ah yes, loved the April Fool's issue.

This Book Will Change Andy's Life has been updated with Day Forty-Nine... Citizen's Arrest Day! I try to at least update that for you every day. Look at that, almost at day 50 of 365!

Howard Dean dropped out of the Presidential race today. He was my favorite out of the candidates. Seemed like the most humanlike of them. Ah well.

If I liked Bush before (which I didn't), I'd really not like him now (which I don't).

In one of those "ha ha" things, the RIAA has been sued.

My future wife Norah sold a million copies of her new CD in her first week, becoming only the second female ever to do that and the first artist since the lovely boys of NSYNC to do that. And the first real artist to ever do it.

In addition to politics, I rarely go into baseball talk here. However, my all-time favorite player, pitcher Greg Maddux, signed with the Chicago Cubs today. The Cubs are probably my second favorite team, and I couldn't be happier. At this point, I'd rather see him and the beloved Cubs win over the Braves of 2004, which seem to have lost their minds. Besides, the Cubs deserve it.

Since I'm into them these days, former Smashing Pumpkins frontman Michael Stipe blames the band's breakup three years ago on James Iha. He also chose to break this on the former band site/his website.

It's ToyFair time! This is when all of the new action figures are revealed. Here's what you can get me to make me a happy boy who will continue to update his website for you. Heh. :)
* Mr. Horse
* All of the Family Guy figures, especially the talking Stewie (bring on Quagmire! Giggity giggity!)

Allllright.
