...my head's definitely not where it should be (or maybe that's just who I am?). I was walking down the street and saw someone pushing a pram and I thought "Oh, there's my friend...but she's usually never out this time of day...oh well..." and I was really sure that it was her....until I realized "BUT why does she have a big black moustache???" Needless to say, it wasn't her.

I've spent most of the day with grandma and a gigant dough with saffron. But it was fun. It's something that you always associate with her, baking. And I didn't learn some new (old?) tricks, like warming the saffron on the stowe and using powdered milk instead of fresh. It's one of those things that you'll regret not doing when you're older. Like the way my (maternal) grandma taught me how to knit and crochet when I was young...er (she was a seamstress), and the things my grandpa taught me about the lake... Unfortunately I don't remember any of that any more...

Went and met a friend who usually never comes to my town for coffee, and in all that excitement I accidentally ate a normal size meal, we'll see what my stomach thinks of that...cross your fingers!

I've decided not to bother with my mum and her ways. I tend to get a bit annoyed, but in the end it's the thought that counts. She asked her quite new neighbour to come with us to the Christmas fair. Nice of her right? The only problem is that the neighbour is from a "far away country" and therefore my mum seems to think that the communication will go smoother if she shouts out every single word she says...which in the end made me do the same thing... AND she just has to explain what every single thing is, even if the neighbour replies "Yeah, I just bought the kids one the other day". It's the thought that counts.

What's wrong with the grocery stores around here??  Neither one has the things I need. And I'm not even gonna comment on the fact that one of them is such a mess that my hands got frostbites...well, almost anyway...before I'd gone through all the boxes in the big freezer. And what do vinegar and custard have in common? Why are they on the same shelf?

A pretty ok day. I managed to get to the meeting on time, and the bus ride was pretty decent too (despite the slippry roads and the creepy bridge). Even tried on some clothes...AND ended up buying one thing (after getting the a-ok from a friend)...with my mum's money. Annoying money-givning people who never can be on time....grrrr...  Went for coffee (or a coke rather) with a friend and had a good talk.

I'm gonna try to see the little things, try to see the good in people. Like the man who offered me a ride home when he saw me struggeling with my big box that I got at the post office and the slippery streets. And no, I refuse to think that he might have had something else in mind. I'm choosing to think that he did it out of goodness.
