DCHS Band
Hello and welcome to the Dixie County High School Band web page. The Dixie County High School Band is located in Cross City, Florida. We are a small band with a very large sound. Our band director is Mr. Rick Averill. My name is David Maxgay and I am the Band Captain this year. I am a senior and first trumpet. During marching and jazz seasons you can catch us practicing on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 5 P.M. Take a peek at our pictures page and find some other great marching bands.
The Bands
DCHS Band students participate in Marching, Jazz, Concert band, and also Solo and Ensemble. Right now, we're in the midst of our marching season. Our district festival was on October 23, in Gainesville, Florida. We will also be attending the Southern Showcase of Champions marching festival at Santa Fe High School in Gainesville. Last year, the 1998-1999 season, was a good year for the DCHS Band program.
