Press: Lays a bomb

Hold: Charges up the bomb so that it blasts Samus higher or kills stronger enemies but doesn't have a larger radius like the power bombs (highest blast up, is 1.5 jumps worth) There are unlimited bomb jumps if you time them right.

Hold and R1: causes the bomb to cover a larger radius but blasts Samus slightly less high and looses strength further away from the blast center.

Press: fires Energy Shot (normal), Spike Shot Wave Shot, Ice Shot or Plasma Shot

Hold: Charges one of the major blast types until you let go, press D^(spike/normal), D>(wave/normal), Dv(Ice/normal), or D<(Plasma/normal) or hold A and press Z to shoot an energy bomb instead of laying it in ball mode (blows on impact). Or hold Z with A and press D^ (Makes the bomb bounce and blow up only when it hits something that is alive), D> (Makes the bomb sticky and timed @ 4 sec.), Dv (makes the bomb bounce and timed at 4 seconds), and D< (makes the bomb sticky and proximity)

B Press: Jump (pressing while in the air gives an extra short boost.)

Hold: activates the booster pack allowing Samus to jump slightly higher and hover for a limited time since it drains her booster pack energy (energy specifically for the boost is obtained separately from Samus' suit's energy)

Press: short boost

Hold: Charges a boost, the longer the charge, the faster and further the boost. You can aim up and down with the D Pad while holding B so that you can boost upwards.

Press right after firing a charge blast: If you time it right, whatever type of blast you shot will circle around you until it hits something that is vulnerable to it. It continues to circle you even after you go out of ball mode.

Press: Changes to large ball mode, a second time goes to Normal mode

Hold and press D^ = Ice/spike, D> = Space/Aqua,   Dv = Fire/Earth (Earth has extra traction), D< = Power/electric (Pressing a D direction once goes to the first mode and pressing it again goes to the other. P Press: charges up for the super run or jump. At max Charge, facing a direction with the control stick and pressing P again will start a super run in that direction until the super run energy runs out or Samus hits something immovable. At Max charge, aiming in any direction then pressing B performs the super Jump in that direction. Pressing B while super running will perform a long distance jump. Pressing P again while in super run or jump will stop Samus. Press: charges up for the super roll. At max Charge, facing a direction with the control stick and pressing P again will start a super roll in that direction until the super roll energy runs out or Samus hits something immovable. At Max charge, aiming in any direction then pressing B performs the super ball boost in that direction. Pressing P again while in super roll will stop Samus. Press: Cloaks the Shoulder spheres so that they are invisible... The cloak can last as long as cloaking energy does. If more cloak energy is not refilled the ability to cloak is gone. If the drones are returned to Samus while they are cloaked, they will cloak Samus with them. This will take up cloak energy faster so it will not last as long with Samus.
Combo of holding P, then R2 and L2 turns on a "bullet speed" in which everything else moves slowly while you move in regular motion as apposed to the Super Run or jump in which everything moves past you at great speed.
Q Press: Captures objects or creatures in the Shoulder Spheres (doesn't work on creatures that aren't weakened enough)

R1

Hold: Lock on with Arm Canon

Hold & Z: Detaches Shoulder Sphere Drones which then follow Samus and help her out with overwhelming amounts of enemies. (or follows commands set in start mode)

Hold R1, Z, and press D ^ Protect Samus, < Patrol start point, >Patrol end point, v attack Target locked on,

Hold & Z again: Reattaches the Shoulder Sphere Drones

Hold & Y: allows Samus to control the right drone

Hold & X: Missile follows locked target for as long as you hold R1 unless it hits something (Missile moves slower when locked and multiple missiles can be fired while still locked on the same target. The target can also be quickly switched by letting go of R1 and locking on the other target quickly before a missile hits anything.)

Hold & control stick: Changes the left and right directions from looking in that direction to moving in that direction

Note: The R1 and L1 can lock onto separate targets at the same time

Ice: Ice Spread slide (creates icy slippery surface directly underneath the ball which then slides, gaining speed the longer it slides, works especially well over water, melts after a certain time and lasts less long in hot areas.)

Spike: Spike Extend

Space: Rebound ball

Aqua: electro-shock

Fire: Heat ball (melts through ice & snow)

Earth: Earth Spread (same as Ice Spread except not slippery so basically it creates a temporary platform and only works over lava, phazon, a short time over water, and over other types of earthy elements from which Samus can convert raw materials into platforms that disintegrate after a certain time)

Power: Shield

Electric: Magnet ball

Press: Attaches the drone to whatever is Locked on. and can then be used as a tracking device. A second time will detach it.

Hold and X: Allows control of the Left Drone when the right drone is in use or back to Samus if the Left drone is in use.

Hold & Z: Reattaches the Shoulder Sphere Drones

Hold & Y: Allows control of the Right drone if the left drone is in use or back to control of Samus if the Right drone is in use.

R2 Press: gradually zoom out away from Samus with the analogue ability of the button while in third person as you gradually press further on the button. While in first person it zooms in like a scope to snipe enemies or check out situations far away.

Click and Z: switches from first person to third person and back again

Click and Y: enables Samus to remotely control her missiles

Hold Click & D pad (3rd person): ^ & v allow you to zoom in and out by increments. The last setting you press becomes the default view for when you hold the R2 button all the way down until you change it again. < & > change the camera orientation from behind Samus to various view angles around her. This is also set as the default until it is changed again.

Spike: analogue Spike Extend (further = longer), click spike shot (shoots spikes where aimed with C stick or if no direction is specified, it plants the spikes into the ground to form a  barrier)

Space: analogue Spring Ball (further = farther spring & bomb to activate the spring) click automatically goes to full spring & C stick aims

Aqua: analogue attract (press further = closer enemies come), click electro-shock

Fire: analogue Flame Ball (further = larger flame), click automatically goes to full Flame

Earth: Earth Spread analogue spreads earth farther as it is pressed further, click holds the ball in place & C stick aims

Right Upgrade Status (list of all Samus' abilities and suit upgrades that she has collected and which ones are activated) by selecting different upgrades and abilities, Samus' suit will change accordingly. ex: If you select only the Gravity suit, and deselect all the others, Samus will have a much higher jump but also less armor and shield protection. If only the power suit were selected, Samus would be able to run faster since she doesn't have all the weight of extra armor. For the things other than suits, the button configuration may be changed within limits. ex: Instead of Ice Missile being fired by Holding X & Pressing D^, you could Hold X and press D>, D< or Dv.
