Game Review

In a game never in question after the first four minutes, Hesperia Christian was victorious over Victor Valley Christian 89-51. The Patriots were led by senior Josh Hamilton's 22 points and Sophmore Mike Petersen's double double of 22 points and 12 rebounds in their 4th Agape League win in six outings. The Royals were hindered by star Pat Mundell's knee injury and Chris Gambill having an off night.Frosh Sean Bayer showed what the future holds for HCS as he had his best varsity game with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Loren Barton played closer to his potential this game with 11 points. The stealing leader of the team, Billy Hague continued that effort getting 6 steals. The team rebounded well getting 47 rebounds, their second highest rebounding effort of the season. Unfortunately free throw shooting dropped back down to 63%.

Now HCS just has to win the next four games and they tie for the Agape League championship. The Patriots are now 13-7 and 4-2. Bethel Christian comes to Hesperia on Tuesday night in a battle between the second and third place teams of the Agape League.

Game Preview
Hesperia Christian opens the first of a two game homestand against Victor Valley Christian at Hesperia. HCS is 12-7 (3-2) and ranked #5 in Socal by CIF for Div VAA. They are in sole possession of second place in the Agape League behind Antelope Valley Christian and Apple Valley Christian The Royals main scorer is junior guard Chris Gambill. Seniors Pat Mundell and Trey McCrary are their main rebounders. Senior Ryan Nuestro is their big three point shooter. The Royals are coming off a 69-45 loss to Bethel Christian on Tuesday.

HCS is on their only two game losing streak at the moment with consecutive road losses to ANVC and AVC. They have already qualified for playoffs but are fighting to get a tie for the Agape championship.
