Anyone else wonder why his sword is clear?
    Tidus
I know what your thinking. "FFX?! But FFIX just came out.(at least it just came out when i put this page up.)" I know, but square has released some info on their next FF title. I should probably tell you now that i got this info from Final Fantasy: Worlds Apart.

While most of the info I deem noteworthy enough for me to put up on this page will be put here promptly, the movies I find around the web would fill up my storage space on this server rather quickly. So, I'll just tell you to check out the video's at Gamespot.com. The link will take you directly to the FFX section. You can find articles on FFX, most of the information included can be found on this page, I believe, as well as those movies I was talking about. There are FMV's as well as in-game clips to view. Be sure to check out the FFX trailer. If you are any kind of FF fan, you owe yourself this much. The graphics are simply beautiful. Anyway, on to the info.

    Story
Let's start with the storyline, shall we? Apparently, the hero, Tidus, has somehow gotten to a foreign landscape. Whether this is a different planet, different time, a dream, or whatever kind of foreign landscape is unclear. All i could glean is that he is in a place he has never been before, and know's nothing about. Anyway, he's there and is playing the bodyguard role for the heroine, Yuna. Yuna is part of a family of summoners, that is, people who can summon monsters to aid them and protect the planet, Ebon. Yuna's family is made up of many of these summoners, who are looked upon as Kings/Celebrities. As you might expect, the world is thrown in turmoil, and it'll be up to Tidus and Yuna, along with the help of some friends(whom i have no info about btw), to save the world. What is the trouble you ask?

    *cough* Rinoa *cough*
    Yuna
From what i've gathered, a creature named Sin(a pun on square's part? i guess we'll see when we beat the game. it would make a good ending though. well, maybe it's just me. another name i've heard is Shin. I'm currently not sure which it is), is threatening the world. It is unclear as to what exactly Sin is, but it's been determined that it has a connection to natural disastors. And, of course, our hero Tidus has sworn to kill Sin. i'll update this this with new info as soon as i find it.

    Game Mechanics
Let's start with the world map and just take that where it leads us. The radom battles will be a little more seamless when on the world map, with boss battles and important battles actually happening on the actual screen you walk around in. The entire game is in Real Time 3D(doing away with pre-rendered backgrounds. Except for CG scenes that is.), allowing some amazing things. They hope that future in Final Fantasy's(XI maybe? which, btw, will be completely online) will be able to have every random battle occur without phasing to a different screen, to lessen loading times and make it look flashier. Anyway, back to FFX. As far as battles go, there will only be 3 characters on screen at a time(despite many pplz hopes). However, there will be a feature that will allow you to call other party members for additional aid. Whether this will be like Tekken Tag Tournament, where members will appear for a combo attack, or whether they will switch places with a present character, as in wild Arms 2, is not clear. As you would expect, Limit Breaks will be present, but what style of limit breaks(ff6 - 9 style), i have not found out. Also, you will not be able to manipulate the camera positions, as some had hoped. Director Kitase has assured questioners, however, that the camera will ALWAYS be in the most convienent position.

    Scenery
The game will still take place in the fantasy setting, as in FFIX, but the buildings and such will be modeled after South-East Asia. I assume(from the area the game is modeled after, as well as suggestions made in that site above) that most of the characters will look asian, unlike previous games(why japanease games had white characters i never could figure out). Tidus, however, will be white, because he is supposed to be special; a being not from Yuna's world. It has been hinted at that he is ingorant of certain customs of the place, which may lead to some comical scenes.

    Misc. Info
Besides the normal release of the game, there will also be a "Directors Cut" of FFX. As far as i know, the only difference will be the number of disks it comes on(2. The standard version will come on one.), and the Visual and Audio quality.
Another interesting tidbit about the game is that there will be a mini-game called Blitzball, a mix between soccer, football, and rugbuy. There are few details about it given out, but it has been disclosed that it will be an important to the story line.

    Final Fantasy X Screenshots

Well I had some good looking screenshots from Final Fantasy: Worlds Apart, but they closed down apparently. Oh well. I found other pics from Gamespot.com. The best of which, IMO, are listed here. There are about 100 more than these, so take a look if your interested.

In addition to these, you will want to check out the screenshots and movies listed Here. These are the first media clips I've posted since FFX has been released in Japan.

This remind anyone of FF8? Check out the detail in this pic

That enemy isn't CGI generated. 100% polygons. What are those things in her hair?
Nothing to worry about here folks. Shiva loses more clothes in every Final Fantasy. Wonder what she'll be wearing in ffxii...
In FFX, summoned creatures stay in your party He looks angry.
Definately not something you'd want to meet in a dark alley. This is Yuna's protector.
