Final Fantasy VII Walkthrough - Disk 3

Okay, here's the deal. Disk 3 only has one story-line-driven area. Think your getting gyped? Not quite. See, the third disk is loaded with side-quests you can complete. I never complete hardly any sidequests until the third disk. Well, except the Sunken Gelnika Plane anyway. If your anything like me, you'll end up spending more time on Disk 3 than either of the first two. So here's how the disk 3 walkthrough will work. The headings will give you an idea what the sidequest is, and the first bulleted point under the heading will give you a brief idea as to the benifits of the side-quest, as well as what it might entail. The next one will tell you how to get to the location you need to be, as well as any other areas you might need to go to. After that, i'll just explain how to complete it. Once I finish with all the side-quests, I'll get to the final dungeon. No guarentees on how soon I'll get the dungeon section added. If it takes too long, and/or I miraculasly get multiple emails(which i've never gotten because of this site before, by the way) requesting that section to be added, I'll add it sooner. Anyway, enough jabber. Let's get into it!

    Ancient Forest

    • This is a fun little side-quest. In my opinion anyway. It's basically an area with some basic puzzles (that spelling doesn't look right. oh well), fairly strong enemies (and thus, a fair ammount of EXP), and some kick @$$ treasure. A definate must in my book. You won't regret it.
    • To get to the Ancient Forest, you will need to do/have one of the following: Have a Green, Black, or Gold Chocobo (walkthrough for getting these chocobo's will be added later, or you can find it in my FFVII FAQ Page), or have beaten the Ultima Weapon. If you have one of the required chocobo's, take them in your airship (yes, you can do that. I didn't figure that out until my second time through the game) to the area around Cosmo Canyon. See that tent-type thing on top of a hill to the North-East of Cosmo Canyon? That's it. Take your chocobo there, get off, and enter the forest. If you have beaten the Ultima Weapon, just walk up the new path that was made at the destruction of the Ultima Weapon.
    • I'll try to make this as smooth as possible, with you doing a minimal ammout of step-retracting, but we'll see how it goes. First, get the three flies that are scattered over the map. One is in the archway you walk under, and two others are near the sacs above you (I believe. If i'm wrong, Email me the correct locations. I'll double-check next time I play FFVII though). Pick them up and put them by the sacs at the top of your screen, but do NOT put them IN the sacs. If you release them too close to the sacs, you'll put them in automatically, so be careful. Once all three of the flies are near the sacs, put the three of them in, and make your way to the other side of the area.
