We have been compared to the Spice Girls many times, which we take as a huge compliment! We admire the Spice girls for what they have done for women in the music bussiness and we look up to them, but we are not the Spice Girls however

Another World Pop Interview July 2000
Gossip Gossip Gossip another Interview. August 2000
They're an all-singing, all-dancing, all-rapping fivesome on a mission. Their aim? To spread the Girl Thing message. The message? Be yourself, have a good time, and you can't go wrong. Whether they're gatecrashing important record company meetings, zooming around in the band's bottle green Escort, or dancing their multi-coloured socks off, they're doing one thing - they're having fuuuuuuun!
"We're up for anything," bellows Linzi, "We don't care what we're doing because whatever it is, we're always having a laugh. We're like a big gang and we want everyone to join us. We can't wait to get out there and show people what we can do!"
Jodi, the youngest band member, explains why every teenager in the land will soon be grooving to the Girl Thing beat. "We're just like all those girls out there, this is our dream. We're having the time of our lives and we want to say to everyone, 'Hey, come and join us. Stick with us and you'll have the time of your life too!'".
The moment you meet them you know how true that is. There's a buzz around them. The kind of vibe that draws you in and makes you feel warm inside, yet makes you want to party 'til you drop! But Girl Thing don't just have fun and look fantastic. These clued-up girls also write their own songs, and each hunk of brilliance is stamped with the feisty Girl Thing attitude.

"We write about issues that affect us, or have affected us in the past," says Nikki enthusiastically, "Parents always think they've been there, done that, worn the T-shirt. But we really have been there and experienced the things that teenagers are going through. No-one can understand teenagers better than teenagers!" "We write about everything," Anika continues, "Sometimes we're on a party vibe, and sometimes we want to get a message across." "But whatever happens, we always write together." smiles Michelle, "Five heads are better than one and we have this real vibe around us when we're all together. That's why our music's so mad!" Ah, their music. Producers include Spice Girls collaborators Richard 'Biff' Stannard (Five) and Absolute, Eliott Kennedy (Spice Girls, Five, S Club 7), Stargate (S Club 7) and Steve Mac (Westlife), it's pure pop injected with Betty Boo style raps, incredible lyrics, and the kind of tunes that make you want to throw yourself around the nearest dancefloor in a shameless fashion. Perfect.
