worldpop: Introduce yourselves, girls!
Anika: I'm Dutch, I'm so different to the others in the way I dress, cos I'm a bit weird and colourful - the phrase Double Dutch definitely started with me!
Nikki: I'm the energetic one, a true Northerner who can be a bit too loud and jolly in the morning.
Jodi: I'm the youngest in the band, I'm 16. I'm the typical teenager and I get told off a lot by Michelle for being lazy.
Michelle: I'm the oldest, I'm a little bit of a mummy to the others, to Jodi especially. I'm also the colourful one, I like bring colour to everybody's morning.
Linzi: I've got a bit of a split personality. I can be quiet and into myself, but on the other hand I can be so loud and you know that I'm coming down the corridor.
Michelle: Linzi's like a Gremlin - you never give her a can of Red Bull after eight o'clock!
Linzi: The saying that you can take the girl out of the North by you can't take the North out of the girl is so true. I'm from Manchester and I like going out to football matches, but I also like dressing glamorously.
worldpop: Are Girl Thing the new Spice Girls?
Linzi: We hope so! Michelle: We're the new Girl Thing, that's who we are!
Jodi: We're just going to take every day as it comes and have fun and not take it too seriously. It's not rocket science, it's pop music. We're the luckiest five girls in the world, we know that.
worldpop: What do you think of comparisons to the Spice Girls?
Anika: Full respect, that's all I can say.
Linzi: We love being compared to them, it's an honour. They have done so much for pop music and girl bands, it's unbelievable, so to be compared to them is excellent.
Michelle: You couldn't knock it, basically.
worldpop: Have you met them?
Michelle: No, but we saw Posh Spice walking down the street!
Nikki: We've glimpsed at a few of them but we've never spoke to them. But hopefully now that we're getting a chance to do a few more TV shows, we'll bump into them and get the chance to say hello - that would be wicked.
worldpop: And you all live together, like the Spice Girls did when they first started out ...
Jodi: Yeah, we live in a house in Surrey. I'd never moved away from home 'til I moved in with the girls and it's fantastic, they're a really supportive team and they've really helped me settle in.
worldpop: In the video for Last One Standing you take over a wedding and end up having a wild party. Whose idea was that?
Anika: All of us came up with the idea for the video when we were at our manager's wedding. It was getting a little boring so we decided to spice up the wedding a little bit and we created a bit of chaos.
Nikki: We were dancing, drinking, singing on the stage ...
Michelle: We decided for the video to just elaborate on that and make it just what teenagers would want to do - trash a party.
worldpop: Have you had a chance to meet any other girl groups yet?
Anika: We've met Atomic Kitten, they're wicked, they were really nice to us.
Nikki: We've been really lucky, every girl group we've come across has been really warm and nice. We haven't come across anyone bad yet.
worldpop: And what about boy bands - who would Girl Thing love to do a duet with?
All: Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync!
Nikki: Not because we fancy them but because we think they're really talented and their music is good.
Anika: Yeah, 'N Sync's Bye Bye Bye is my favourite pop song ever.
Michelle: Um, I like Bon Jovi!
worldpop: The Spice Girls have got girl power, so what's the Girl Thing attitude all about?
Linzi: We have one word we always live by … All: Fun!
