Tsukasa, Bishie of the Month About Tsukasa; ---Tsukasa is a character inside the online game "THE WORLD," and is from the anime series .hack//SIGN. The .hack series, consisting of mangas, video games, and three seperate anime series, is absolutely wonderful, and is well known for it's astonishing soundtrack. The music of the anime Noir was also done by the people who worked with .hack//SIGN, and the //SIGN soundtracks are an absolute must-have; even if you haven't seen the series. The //LIMINALITY series, of which comes packed with the Playstation2 games, is rather aclaimed because it's worked on by the people who also did Evangelion and Ghost in the Shell.
---He wakes up to find himself in THE WORLD, an very popular online game played worldwide. The catch is, he's finds himself really in the world; he feels everything that happens in the game as if it were real, and he defies system boundries. And oddest of all, he's unable to log out at all. Thus, while he tries to convince himself that being in the crappy real world would be worse than being in his current prediciment, he soon finds himself caught up in a flow of things he cannot control. ---Tsukasa is a young man with many faces. He can be like any young man; innocent and happy, but he can also change almost instantanously into someone sadistic, angry, sad, or something else. For the most part, he's kind, but when people pry into things about him he doesnt' want known, or if he it placed in a prediciment where he must defend himself, he becomes scared, and sometimes violent.
---Class-wise, Tsukasa is identified as a "wavemaster," which is a mage-like equivalent. He carries around a large staff, but during .hack//SIGN, he doesn't seem to have many abilities of his own. Beyond using the staff as a weapon, he defends himself most of the time by using yellow dumbell-like monster guardian. Some of the time, however, he has Mimiru, of the heavyblade class, around to help defend him in battle, since she, as a warrior-type, is far stronger than Tsukasa.. Physically, at least. His guardian, like he, defies the limits of the system, so, naturally, an normal PlayerCharacter like Mimiru couldn't be stronger in an overall field.
---To sum it up, Tsukasa is a very cute, boyish, angsty bishouen. A boy living in an online game as if it were the real world, trapped beyond his will, sought out for abilities he has that defy the system itself. If you haven't seen .hack//SIGN, let alone any of the .hack series, I strongly urge you to go out now and get a hold of some--this franchise is too good to pass up!
