On June 12, 1994, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman, were found murdered just outside her home in Brentwood, California.
On June 18, following a nationally televised police chase, O.J. Simpson was arrested and charged with the crime. Months later his trial started, and, on October 3, 1995, he was acquitted.
After Simpson's acquittal, Goldman’s father sued him for wrongful death in the deaths of his son and Nicole. Simpson was found guilty on February 4, 1997.
Simpson’s astrology for the murders, his trial, and his acquittal are not presented here.
The purpose of this paper is to show the astrology of sudden, severe financial loss for one individual, O.J. Simpson. To see that, we will be examining his 2nd chart of personal finances and possessions. It shows that, consistent with their role in other charts, mars, saturn, and neptune forefront in a particular chart sponsor siege conditions.
The larger paper on financial troubles is found at the following link: Paper on Financial Troubles. For comparative reading, a paper on financial blessings also exists. Here is its link: Paper on Rich Men, Lottery Winners, and Lucky Gamblers.
The fact that Simpson was well off financially is already a statement--established, using this astrology--that his financial chart contained benevolent sets (see footnote 1 below). His benefic aspects supporting wealth are not listed here, but they do exist. Here I show only his susceptibility to, as well as timing for, loss.
I know little, in fact, about Simpson’s finances. I understand he lost many endorsements following his arrest. He lost future possibilities of endorsements. He lost a considerable sum of money paying for his legal “dream team.” He was likely dismissed from various board positions. He could no longer earn money as a performing athlete. He undoubtedly lost whatever potential movie roles he had lined up. No money coming in plus a lot going out amounts to financial siege conditions.
When an individual experiences major financial loss, two conditions exist. One, he must have accumulated enough to make its loss significant to him. Two, his financial chart likely contains a hint of the potential for sudden, severe, loss.
In this system, that hint of loss is called a “fault” in the original chart. Faults, of course, are usually about difficult sets--ones that promise breakdown, havoc, ruin, damage, and deficiency. Difficult sets like that are represented by the two malefic planets, mars and saturn. Accumulation, building up, and winning belong under the two benefics, venus and jupiter.
Most people see money as a good thing. Actually, fame and fortune can overwhelm an individual and, ultimately, ruin his life. Still, none of us would label prominent venus/jupiter in a financial chart a “fault.” Whatever the dizzying heights we can fall from, almost all of us prefer having too much money to not having enough. We see the former as desirable; the latter, undesirable.
In order to understand Simpson’s financial conditions, we first need to understand something about this method which so clearly shows them.
This method is not traditional. It uses a birth and conception planets and their harmonics and houses, all of which share the same axis. :
This astrology uses the sidereal positions of the planets based on the Fagan-Bradley’s SVP.
Harmonics are taken from the sidereal position of the planets. The Egyptian harmonic, discussed in the paper “About This Method” (link below), is used.
”Lights” include suns, moons, and moons nodes. When mercury rules one or two Angles, it also acts like a light and has the same orb as the other lights. The MC or Asc also acts like a light, but one with only a 2° orb, because when a set is on an Angle it does not need a light to be active.
This method uses only conjunctions, applying and separating squares, and oppositions. Orbs for static planets with lights is 5°; without lights, about 2.5°. Orb for MC/planet or Asc/planet is 2°. Planets so related to each other are referred to as in the same “set.” A set, then, is two or more planets (or an Angle) connected to each other through conjunction, square, and opposition within the defined orbs. Sets without Angles are more active when they contain a light, and less active without one. Learning to look in terms of “crosses” can be helpful in rapidly finding planets that are in the same set.
Because this approach uses both a birth and conception chart and they share the same axis, birth houses usually overlap different houses of the conception chart. These are called “house overlaps.” As it turned out in this paper, house overlaps were not significant. They can be for some other conditions. Throughout this paper I use the convention when writing about house overlaps of putting the birth house first, then the conception house. So, for instance, a “5th/1st” overlap refers to an overlap of birth 5th house with conception 1st house in that order.
Birth planets (including their harmonics) rule only birth houses. Conception planets (including their harmonics) rule only conception houses.
For a more thorough explanation of this astrological approach, refer to the following papers:

In the partial charts shown below, birth planets and their harmonics are inside the circle. Conception planets and their harmonics are outside the circle. Conception sidereal planets are red; conception harmonic ones, black. Birth sidereal planets are blue; birth harmonic ones, green. Occasionally, because of space limitations, I have had to violate this inside/outside arrangement, but the color coding remains constant.
Abbreviations used are b = birth, c = conception, and t = transiting. Even though the harmonic used for each chart is always two more than the chart’s number, in these papers—for ease of reading—I write the harmonic number the same as the chart number. For example, the 5th chart uses the 7th harmonic, but I have established the convention of writing harmonic planets for the 5th chart as, e.g., c5 mars, which reads, “the harmonic for the 5th chart for conception mars.”
Returning to Simpson and financial loss. What does his 2nd house fault look like?
The Main Money Chart--Simpson’s 2nd House Chart
|(a)||b2 sun||0 Sagittarius 22||ruler of B Asc in c 2nd house|
|b2 South Node||29 Scorpio 51|
|b2 saturn||0 Pisces 04|
|b moon||1 Pisces 35||ruler of b 12th house|
|(pb uranus)||1 Gemini 34||(for June 12, 1994)|
|(pb2 sun)||0 Gemini 08||(for June12, 1994); ruler of B Asc in c 2nd house|
The only non-harmonic planet in this set is his birth moon in Pisces. It has nooriginal connection to 2nd house, money matters (see footnote 2 below). B2 sun, a harmonic, with its rulership of B Ascendant in conception 2nd house, connects (a) to 2nd house, money matters. It shows he will likely, at some time, be in poor financial straits. How do I know?
B2 sun, by relating to both an Angle and 2nd house, brings this aspect forefront for the 2nd house chart. Since it is forefront, any implications in it will likely express at some time. Whenever saturn or mars in Pisces becomes highlighted by a harmonic light (two here before progressions), or conversely, a harmonic yields mars or saturn (b2 saturn) in Pisces to an original light (or Angle), it suggests serious problems with matters of that chart.
A loose interpretation of the above is: Simpson’s moon in Pisces--representative of unfortunate (Pisces) women (moon) in his life-- (at some point) will be part of the cause (2nd and Angular influence) for money problems (2nd house). The problems will be serious and painful (saturn in Pisces), and unforeseen (Pisces’ connection to the 12th house of hidden matters).
Progressed (for June 12, 1994) uranus to his moon in Pisces is one of his timers. By itself, however, it could not sponsor his financial problem. It only suggests his relationship with his Pisces woman has become unpredictable and unstable.
Simpson’s pertinent progressions (in italics) for this chart on June 12, 1994 were:
|(b)||pb2 saturn||23 Pisces 53|
|pc2 mars||23 Gemini 52|
|C MC||24 Pisces 07|
|(c)||pb2 mars||23 Libra 30|
|B MC||24 Aries 47|
|(d)||pb2 neptune||0 Scorpio 35|
|pc sun||0 Scorpio 06||co-ruler of c 2nd house (23 of 25°)|
|B Asc||0 Leo 36||co-ruler of c 2nd house (23 of 25°)|
The three sets above--(b), (c) and (d)--show new emphasis to Angles of mars (twice), saturn, and neptune. Note that each of them is harmonic, therefore particularly indexed to this 2nd house chart. Even though only one set, (d), shows 2nd house emphasis through rulers, all three sets have money implications because they show the harmonic for the 2nd house chart of money. Since these are progressions, and are all forefront in emphasis, they indicate timing, that is, within months before or after June12, 1994.
Mars, saturn, and neptune, predominant in a chart represent siege conditions for whichever chart they are in. Here, they are in Simpson’s money chart. Mars and saturn would have been sufficient for loss. Neptune’s influence represents a sense of porosity, like blood (money) flowing out of a wound that cannot be staunched.
We saw mars, saturn, and neptune forefront in earlier papers. We saw it in the 3rd house chart in the paper on paranoid schizophrenia. We saw it in the 6th house chart for end stage cancer.
The Back-up Money Chart--Simpson’s 2nd Houses in his 7th Chart
Research has established that for maximum expression of the above negative financial conditions, Simpson’s 2nd houses within his 7th house chart must contain similar, but not as exaggerated, implications. That is, his 2nd houses should be afflicted by mars and/or saturn, and these have Angular influence. If his money houses in his 7th chart do not agree with his 2nd chart--here, for loss--his losses will be less, or may not occur at all.
How did Simpson’s financial misfortune, starting June 12, 1994, look in his 7th chart?
|(e)||b South Node||7 Scorpio 28|
|c moon||9 Scorpio 33||ruler of C Asc and c 2nd house|
|pb7 saturn||8 Taurus 44|
|(f)||b7 mars||18 Leo 19||ruler of B MC; in c 2nd house|
|pc North Node||17 Taurus 54|
(e) plus (f) show Simpson has lighted mars plus lighted saturn influencing Angles (through rulers) and 2nd houses in his 7th chart. They agree in substance with his chart for his 2nd house.
2nd and 7th charts in agreement imply his income (and assets) are going to be severely stressed. For how long? Could be the one-half to three-quarters of a year usually covered by progressions. But it could also be longer if nothing else restores them.
While here, I should mention Simpson’s 2nd house chart influences at the time he lost his wrongful death suit. The date for that verdict was February, 4, 1997. At that time, his 2nd chart had another (new) Angle/saturn and Angle/mars. He did not, however, have as strong negative conditions in his 7th chart. How does that interpret? Compared to the ruin he experienced following his wife’s death, his loss in the wrongful death suit was not catastrophic. He lost the suit; did he actually lose any money?
(1) People vary tremendously in how well they use their money. Some one who invests wisely could turn a mediocre financial chart into more wealth than some one with a fantastic financial chart who squanders his money. I have a file on lottery winners and successful gamblers with which I established the astrology of sudden financial gain. The individual making the best of his financial lot would be more complex.
(2) His Pisces moon’s rulership of his 12th house suggests he could experience unforeseen (12th house) difficulties because of something unfortunate (Pisces) about the women (moon) in his life. Moon’s placement in c 8th/b 9th house suggests (a)possibly a famous death (8th influence) with world wide publicity (9th influence). The 9th interpretation is a guess.
(3) It is possible to have both maximum good (light/venus/jupiter) and the maximum affliction (light/mars/saturn) occurring at the same time in a chart. Such, for instance, was the case with Robert F. Kennedy, in his 10th chart, when he won the important California primary and was murdered the same day.
