Page was a long-time mainstay in WCW, having won many titles and being one of the top personalities there. The WWF bought WCW in March 2001 and Page was signed. He showed up on WWF Television in June as the mystery man who had been stalking the Undertaker's wife Sara. Undertaker was furious, and beat Page severely when he showed up at King of the Ring. Soon after that, Page helped Shane McMahon in forming an alliance with Paul Heyman and ECW. At WCW/ECW-WWF Invasion, he teamed with Booker T, The Dudley Boyz and Rhyno to beat Steve Austin, Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Kane and Chris Jericho. He teamed with Kanyon to win the WWF Tag Team Titles from the APA, and at the same time, Kane and the Undertaker won the WCW Tag Titles from Chuck Palumbo and Sean O'Haire. They lost the titles to Kane and the Taker in a title for title cage match at SummerSlam. Page was beaten so severely that he was out for a month. When he returned, he became a billboard for positive thinking, and feuded with the Big Show. He left TV after the Alliance was kicked off of TV after the Survivor Series, but was soon hired back.

He competed in the 2002 Royal Rumble, and won the European Title from Christian shortly after that. He tried to get Christian to think more positively and help him end his losing streak, but Christian turned against him. DDP beat Christian again at WrestleMania X-8, but lost the title to William Regal two days later. After the roster split, he was drafted to Vince McMahon's Smackdown brand. After feuding with Hardcore Holly, Page's neck started acting up and he was told by doctors that he should retire. In June, Page announced his retirement from the ring, but said he would remain with WWE in some capacity.
