League Format

Regular Season

League is played on 3-point win rule.
Clubs play each other twice - once at home and once away from home.
They are ranked according to the points they collected at 34 games of the Regular season.
Top four clubs qualify to Play-off group for the Championship (CPO), the next four clubs qualify to Play-off group for Europa League (ELPO) and the three bottom clubs are relegated to 1. Lig.

If some clubs are tied at the same point(s), then these clubs are re-ranked evaluating the matches they played with each other only in some mini leagues. The following criteria in the order given will be used as the tie-breakers for these mini leagues.
1 - The points they collected in the mini-leagues.
2 - The differences of the goals scored for and against in the mini-leagues.
3 - The number of goals scored for at home and away in the mini-leagues.

Play-offs

The clubs carry over the half of their point totals to the play-offs, rounding up if their total is an odd number.
No other stats are carried over.

The clubs play home and away games with the three other clubs in their play-off group.
They are ranked according to the points they accumulated at the play-off stage and the points they carried over from the regular season.
The top club at play-off group for the championship becomes the new champion of the Süper Lig.

If some clubs are tied at the same point(s) after the play-off games, one extra criteria is use to break the ties. This criteria is the rounding of the points carried over from the Regular season - İf the points were an even number at Regular season and no rounding up is done, this wins the tie-break and if the points were an odd number and 0.5 points is added to round the number up, this loses the tie-break.

If the tie is not broken after this criteria, then these clubs are re-ranked evaluating the matches they played with each other only as some mini leagues, using the following criteria in the order given as the tie-breakers. In this case the matches played both at Regular season and at play-offs will be evaluated.
1 - The points they collected in the mini-leagues.
2 - The differences of the goals scored for and against in the mini-leagues.
3 - The number of goals scored for at home and away in the mini-leagues.

Participation at UEFA Club Competitions

The participation at the UEFA Cups are decided in the format used by all other UEFA member countries.
The clubs to attend UEFA Champions League (UCL) is decided first. Then the representative from domestic cup competition is decided. Finally the rest of the berths at UEFA Europa League (UEL) are filled from the league standings.
After all participats are decided, then the stages the clubs are going to start is decided.

Turkey has 2 berths at UCL and 3 berths at UEL. One of this berth will be used by a club from Turkish Cup.

Top two clubs at Play-off Group for the Championship qualify to UCL.

Club from Turkish Cup at UEL
The winner of the Turkish Cup gets this berth. But if they already got a berth to UCL, then the losing cup finalist gets the berth. If that club also got a berth at UCL then no club from Turkish Cup will get a berth. The number of berth to be selected from the league is increased to 3.

Clubs from Süper Lig at UEL
Only the clubs completing the play-off stage as the 3rd or 4th at CPO and the winner of ELPO have chance to get a berth.
If no club from the Turkish Cup will get a berth, all these three clubs get a berth. If the Club from Turkish Cup completes the season at any of these three positions, then two others get a berth from the league.
But, if the club from Turkish Cup is not any of these clubs, then the 3rd at CPO gets one of the berths. 4th at CPO and the winner of ELPO play one more game to decide the club for the last berth.

The stages the club start playing at the cups
Turkish Süper Lig Champion will start at Group Stage of UCL.
The runner-up will start at 3rd Qualifying round of Non-Champions at UCL.

If the Club from the Turkish Cup is the Turkish Cup winner, then this club starts at Play-off Round at UEL, the better ranked club from the league will start at 3rd Qualifying Round at UEL, and the other club will start at 2nd Qualifying Round at UEL.
If the Club from the Turkish Cup is the losing cup finalist, all three clubs at UEL will start at UEL according to their rankings in the league. The best of them will start at Play-off Round of UEL, next best at 3rd Qualifying Round and the worst at 2nd Qualifying Round.
