Henry Clay led 28-7 late in the third quarter and survived a late Madison Central rally to earn a 28-27 victory.  Madison Central scored on a six yard run by Dominique Hawkins with 58 seconds remaining in the game and elected to go for a two point conversion but the pass failed and the Blue Devils held on for the victory.

Henry Clay recorded 12 first downs and 315 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized three times for 32 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  Madison Central recorded 15 first downs and 304 yards of total offense.  The Indians were penalized five times for 40 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

David George led Henry Clay’s ground game with 78 yards on seven carries.  Davion Jackson carried the ball 21 times for 46 yards and a touchdown.  Christian Todd completed 11 of 13 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Davion Jackson caught five passes for 46 yards.  Austin Black caught three passes for 108 yards and a touchdown.  Charles McCarty led the defense with six solo and six assisted tackles.  Hagan Bradley added one solo and six assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.

Hunter Stocker led Madison Central’s ground game with 57 yards on 12 carries.  Dominique Hawkins carried the ball 13 times for 50 yards and two touchdowns.  Hunter Stocker completed 10 of 21 passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Kevin Segar caught three passes for 30 yards.  Dominique Hawkins caught two passes for 35 yards and a touchdown.  Hunter Allen added two receptions for 31 yards and a touchdown.  Melvin March led the defense with three solo and 10 assisted tackles.  Jon Floyd added two solo and 11 assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling three yards.  Tucker Fair chipped in with five solo and four assisted tackles.  Brandon Parks recorded three solo and six assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling nine yards and recovered a fumble.

Bryan Station 35  Tates Creek 29 – Tates Creek led 22-6 at halftime but Bryan Station rallied for the victory.  LJ Warfield led the victors with 173 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.  Tates Creek’s Dennis Oxendine carried the ball 26 times for 179 yards and three touchdowns.

Franklin County 55  West Jessamine 29 – Franklin County’s Ryan Timmons caught six passes for 213 yards including TD receptions of 62, 24, 49, and 28 yards and scored on a 48 yard run.  QB Logan Woodside completed 15 of 27 passes for 299 yards and five touchdowns.  West Jessamine’s Sean Donaldson scored on interception returns of 70 and 39 yards and 25 yards on a blocked punt return.

Lexington Catholic 48  Mercer County 7 – QB Kyle Bolin completed 12 of 19 passes for 145 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Knights.

Lafayette 14  Henry Clay 0 – William “Bubba” Johnson carried the ball 29 times for 147 yards and two touchdowns and recovered a fumble to lead Lafayette to victory.

Dixie Heights 34  Boone County 27 – QB Zeke Pike threw for an eight yard touchdown and scored on runs of 6, 1, and 25 yards to lead Dixie Heights.

East Jessamine 21  Woodford County 0 – Cameron Thomas ran for 191 yards including TD runs of 10, 64, and 31 yards.

Breathitt County 35  Hazard 34 – Breathitt County QB Richard Trent ran for a 43 yard touchdown in the closing minutes to give the Bobcats a victory.  Trent ran for 208 yards including scoring runs of 4, 33, and 43 yards.  Hazard QB Evan Whitaker threw TD passes of 17, 25, and 22 yards.

Trinity 36  Cathedral IN 14 – Trinity pulled away from a 14-14 halftime tie to defeat Cathedral.  James Quick opened the second half with a 98 yard kickoff return for a touchdown and added a 17 yard touchdown reception.

St. Xavier 31  Central 30 OT – Brad Schickel kicked an extra point in overtime to give the Tigers the winning margin.  Central’s Anthony Wales carried the ball 30 times for 230 yards and scored on runs of 80, 1, and 10 yards.

Butler 63  Fairdale 6 – Brandon Berkley carried the ball 17 times for 236 yards and scored on runs of 22, 45, 12, and 46 yards.

Manual 40  Seneca 13 – QB Luis Thompson threw for 177 yards including TD passes of 5, 10, and 20 yards to lead Manual.

Lafayette defeated Henry Clay by a score of 14-0 to improve their record to 4-2 for the season while Henry Clay falls to 1-5.  Henry Clay had their opportunities but turnovers including two in the redzone sealed their doom tonight.  Lafayette recorded 13 first downs and 242 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized four times for 30 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Henry Clay recorded nine first downs and 137 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized seven times for 45 yards, lost three fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

William “Bubba” Johnson led Lafayette’s ground game with 147 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries.  Garrett Peavler completed seven of 15 passes for 78 yards with one interception.  Tranard Chester caught three passes for nine yards.  Darius Hughes caught two passes for 23 yards.  Jason Ferguson led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.  Chris Oldham added four solo and two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling five yards.  Andy Hampton and William Johnson also recovered fumbles.

The score was tied 14-14 at halftime but James Quick energized Trinity as he returned the opening kickoff in the second half 98 yards for a touchdown and Trinity rolled to a 36-14 victory.  Trinity improves to 5-0 while Cathedral falls to 3-3 for the season.  Trinity recorded 11 first downs and 315 yards of total offense.  The Shamrocks were penalized twice for 23 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Cathedral recorded 11 first downs and 200 yards of total offense.  They were penalized twice for 30 yards and lost a fumble.

D. Dawkins led Trinity’s ground game with 136 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.  T. Wright completed 11 of 18 passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  J. Quick caught four passes for 70 yards and a touchdown.  M. Smith added two receptions for 34 yards and a touchdown.  D. Bertram led the defense with five solo and three assisted tackles.  J. Hatcher added five solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totalling nine yards and recovered a fumble.

Bryan Station rallied from a 22-6 deficit at halftime to defeat Tates Creek by a score of 35-29.  Bryan Station’s Everett Talbert scored on a two yard run and Everett Talbert scored on a two point conversion run to tie the game 22-22 with 6:09 left in the third quarter.  Bryan Station took a 29-22 lead on a three yard run by LJ Warfield and conversion kick by Michael Morton with 5:55 left in the game.  Tates Creek tied the score at 29-29 on a 17 yard pass from Martell Berry to TaVon Dunn and a conversion kick by Jake Ryan with 4:34 left in the game.  Tates Creek attempted an onside kick but Bryan Station recovered on the 50 yard line.  Everett Talbert scored the winning touchdown on a one yard run with 1:45 left on the clock.  Tates Creek had one last chance as Dennis Oxendine returned the kickoff 48 yards to the Bryan Station 37 but Tates Creek was stopped on downs and Bryan Station ran out the clock to improve their record to 4-1.  Tates Creek falls to 2-4 for the year.

Bryan Station recorded 22 first downs and 366 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized 10 times for 108 yards and lost a fumble.  Tates Creek recorded 17 first downs and 327 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized 13 times for 126 yards and lost a fumble.

LJ Warfield led Bryan Station’s ground game with 173 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.  Ora Johnson completed seven of 17 passes for 116 yards.  Kenyon Hippe caught three passes for 24 yards.  Tyus Alcorn caught two passes for 54 yards.  Everett Talbert led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles.  Elijah Burdette added five solo and two assisted tackles.  Charles Randle recorded five solo tackles.  Raking Young chipped in with three solo and three assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 12 yards.

Dennis Oxendine led Tates Creek’s ground game with 179 yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries.  Martell Berry completed four of 10 passes for 77 yards and one touchdown.  Keith Denton caught two passes for 51 yards.  TaVon Dunn caught a 17 yard touchdown pass.  RJ Taylor led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 15 yard loss.  Terrell Moore also recorded five solo and two assisted tackles.

Beechwood raced out to a 37-0 first quarter lead on their way to a 65-22 victory over Elizabethtown.  Beechwood improves to 4-1 for the year while Elizabethtown drops to 0-6.  Beechwood recorded 16 first downs and 416 yards of total offense.  The Tigers were penalized five times for 67 yards and lost a fumble.  Elizabethtown recorded 14 first downs and 267 yards of total offense.  The Panthers were penalized three times for 14 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Cameron Vocke led Beechwood’s ground game with 176 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries.  Mitch Thomas carried the ball eight times for 51 yards and a touchdown.  Taylor Davis completed seven of 11 for 131 yards and three touchdowns.  Cameron Vocke caught two passes for 51 yards.  Corey Cruse added two receptions for 39 yards.  Alex Brennen, Max Nussbaum, and Dane Everett had touchdown receptions of 18, 13, and 10 yards respectively.  Joe Staten led the defense with six solo and four assisted tackles.  Mitch Thomas added five solo and four assisted tackles.

Kyle Todd led Elizabethtown’s ground game with 15 yards on 12 carries.  Kyle Todd completed 26 of 35 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns.  Matt Morgan caught 10 passes for 105 yards.  Josh Williams caught nine passes for 55 yards.  DeVaugh Miller added five receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown.  Kennedy Simon caught two passes for 32 yards and two touchdowns.  Josh Williams led the defense with four solo and two assisted tackles.  Tyler Adams added one solo and seven assisted tackles.

Scott County continues their domination this season with a 48-6 victory over George Rogers Clark.  Scott County led 27-0 at halftime and George Rogers Clark starting QB Reid Campbell left the game in the second quarter with an injury.  Scott County’s opportunistic defense forced five turnovers and Dierrius Dumphord ran for three touchdowns tonight.

Scott County recorded 20 first downs and 436 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized seven times for 49 yards and lost a fumble.  George Rogers Clark recorded 10 first downs and 211 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized six times for 43 yards, lost three fumbles, and had two passes intercepted.

Dierrius Dumphord led Scott County’s ground attack with 118 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries.  Josh Walls carried the ball seven times for 77 yards.  Kevo Edwards added 49 yards on seven carries.  Ben Lawler completed six of nine passes for 104 yards and a touchdown.  Scott Daniel caught seven passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns.  Avery Ford led the defense with five solo tackles.  Jordan Kindred added three solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.  Damon Gray recorded three solo snd two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 16 yards.  John Scott recorded three solo and two assisted tackles with four of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 15 yards and recovered two fumbles.  Jordan Sinclair and Jevon Christopher also recorded three solo and two assisted tackles each.

Pokey Harris led George Rogers Clark’s ground game with 63 yards on 14 carries.  Christian Cooke completed five of 14 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.  Darian Skinner caught an 83 yard touchdown pass.  Conner Shoebrooks led the defense with four solo and 13 assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Chase Austin and Matt Hisle each recorded four solo and three assisted tackles.

Anderson County took the lead (14-7) late in the second quarter and broke open the game with a 17-0 run in the third quarter in a 31-14 victory over Montgomery County.  Anderson County improves to 4-1 while Montgomery County falls to 2-3 for the season.  Anderson County recorded 22 first downs and 357 yards of total offense.  The Bearcats were penalized twice for 17 yards and lost a fumble.  Montgomery County recorded 10 first downs and 226 yards of total offense.  The Indians were penalized three times for 18 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Ethan Kelly led Anderson County’s ground game with 129 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.  Seth Carmichael carried the ball eight times for 49 yards and a touchdown.  Seth Carmichael completed 12 of 16 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown.  Ethan Kelly caught four passes for 63 yards.  Travis Phillips caught four passes for 22 yards and a touchdown.  Ross Cox added two receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown. Travis Phillips led the defense with eight solo and six assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 14 yards.  Ross Cox added four solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 12 yards.  Matthew Sprague and Ethan Kelly each intercepted a pass.
