Buckhorn coach John Noble started the following lineup: 6-0 Jr. Ryan Couch, 5-11 Jr. Tray Gay, 6-7 Jr. Matt Day, 5-8 Jr. Scotty Blank, and 5-9 Jr. Trevor Easterling. Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-2 Sr. Trae Stewart, 6-0 Sr. Kendrick Prewitt, 6-6 Sr. Daniel Kiesling, 6-0 Sr. Brandon Nichols, and 5-9 Jr. Wes Kimball.
Buckhorn defeated Henry Clay by a score of 48-38. Buckhorn led 25-14 at halftime but Henry Clay rallied to only trail by two; 36-34 at the end of three quarters. Buckhorn pulled away in the final quarter to outscore Henry Clay 12-4 down the stretch.
Buckhorn shot 50% from the field including five of eight from the thre point line. The Wildcats connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Henry Clay turnovers. Henry Clay shot 25.5% from the field including three of 20 from the three point line. The Blue Devils connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 29 Buckhorn turnovers. Henry Clay attempted 21 more shots from the field (55-34) than Buckhorn.
Matt Day led Buckhorn with 18 points and 18 rebounds. Day recorded three three point baskets. Scotty Blank added 10 points.
Wes Kimball and Kendrick Prewitt led Henry Clay with nine and seven points respectively.
