Lafayette vs. Madison Central (Girls)

Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 5-10 So. Olivia Cathers, 5-7 Fr. Kylie Noble, 6-0 So. Anaya Brown, 5-2 So. Catherine Jacobs, and 5-7So. Lauren Walton.  Madison Central coach Brad Lovely countered with 5-10 Jr. Raelynn Miller, 5-9 Sr. Taleya Todd, 5-11 Sr. Jekauri McKeithen, 5-4 7th Grade Nataya Strader, and 5-5 Jr. Brianna Bierbaum.

 

Madison Central defeated Lafayette by a score of 40-34.  The Indians took an 11 point lead in the second quarter but Lafayette rallied to take a two point lead in the third quarter before Madison Central rallied for the victory.  The score was tied twice and there were four lead changes in the game.

 

Madison Central shot 42.9% from the field including two of nine from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 14 of 24 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 25.6% from the field including four of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on eight of 16 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored nine points off 16 Madison Central turnovers.

 

Taleya Todd led Madison Central with 24 points including nine of 11 free throws.  Jekauri McKeithen added 10 points and 11 rebounds.  5-11 Jr. Gretchen Hammitt pulled down six rebounds.

 

Lauren Walton led Lafayette with 11 points including three three point baskets.  Olivia Cathers added eight points, 13 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Anaya Brown recorded eight points and 10 rebounds.
