Rowan County coach Matt Stokes started the following lineup: 5-6 Fr. Hailey Rose, 5-5 Jr. Brooke Blevins, 5-8 Jr. Promise Cross, 5-5 Jr. Shelby Ricer, and 5-5 8th Grade Haven Ford. Lexington Catholic coach Scott True countered with 5-9 Fr. Chloe Treece, 5-7 Sr. Jay Ballard, 5-8 Sr. Maylo Given, 5-5 Sr. Morgan Rakes, and 5-7 So. Farah Weldon.
Rowan County led 41-32 in the third quarter but Lexington Catholic rallied in the final quarter to earn a 59-55 victory. The score was tied twice and there were three lead changes in the game. Lexington Catholic shot 44.7% from the field including four of 12 from beyond the arc. The Lady Knights connected on 13 of 16 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored seven points off 13 Rowan County turnovers. Rowan County shot 33.3% from the field including six of 19 from beyond the arc. The Lady Vikings connected on nine of 12 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 20 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Jay Ballard led Lexington Catholic with 20 points including three three point baskets, three rebounds, and two steals. 5-8 So. Ariel West added 12 points including six of six free throws and four rebounds. Chloe Treece recorded 11 points and four blocked shots. Farah Weldon chipped in with eight points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Maylo Given pulled down 14 rebounds.
Haven Ford led Rowan County with 18 points including two three point baskets, nine rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Shelby Ricer added 10 points and three rebounds. Hailey Rose recorded 10 points and three rebounds.
