Butler coach Kentreal Goodin started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. Cameron Underwood, 5-9 Jr. Willard Minter, 6-1 Sr. DyShawn Brown, 5-8 Jr. Jadon Lamb, and 5-8 Sr. Maurice Tolley.  Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-4 Sr. Harris Hawkins, 6-3 Jr. Marques Warrick, 6-6 Jr. Jackson Phillips, 5-9 Sr. Ramond Jackson, and 6-1 Jr. Marquis Mackey.

 

Henry Clay trailed 49-44 after three quarters but outscored Butler 20-8 in the final quarter to earn a 64-57 victory.  The score was tied seven times and there were 11 lead changes in the game.  Henry Clay shot 47.9% from the field including six of 16 from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 14 Butler turnovers.  Butler shot 37.5% from the field including nine of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Bears connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Harris Hawkins led Henry Clay with 18 points and 14 rebounds.  Marques Warrick added 17 points, five rebounds, and five assists.  5-11 Sr. Mayan White recorded 15 points on five three point baskets.

 

Willard Minter led Butler with 13 points including two three point baskets.  Maurice Tolley added 11 points.
