Franklin County vs. Lafayette (Girls)

Franklin county coach Joey Thacker started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Samareah Levarity, 5-6 Jr. Jasmine Simpson, 5-10 Fr. Patience Laster, 5-4 Sr. Shannon Brunette, and 5-6 So. Brooklynn Miles.  Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 5-10 Sr. Lindi DeBilzan, 5-11 Fr. Anaya Brown, 5-10 Sr. Macey Goff, 5-1 Jr.Tionna Sanford, and 5-7 Fr. Lauren Walton.

 

Franklin County trailed 32-25 at halftime but exploded for a 27-8 advantage in the third quarter on their way to a 63-51 victory over Lafayette.  The score was tied four times and there was seven lead changes in the game.  Franklin County shot 42.3% from the field including seven of 23 from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on 12 of 21 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 30 points off 27 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 48.6% from the field including two of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Generals connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 13 Franklin County turnovers.

 

Patience Laster led Franklin County with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Jasmine Simpson added 15 points including four three point baskets and five rebounds.  Brooklynn Miles recorded 11 points, seven assists, and three steals.  Shannon Brunette also scored 11 points including two three point baskets.

 

Macey Goff led Lafayette with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.  Lindi DeBilzan added 10 points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals.  Anaya Brown recorded seven points and 10 rebounds.  5-7 Fr. Olivia Cathers also scored seven points and pulled down five rebounds.
