Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts started the following lineup: 5-11 So. Bria Bass, 5-11 Sr. Paige Murphy, 5-11 Sr. Abby Wright, 5-6 So. Teri Goodlett, and 5-8 Jr. Shay Solomon. Florida State University coach Sue Semrau countered with 6-2 Jr. Kiah Gillespie, 5-10 Fr. Kourtney Weber, 6-3 Fr. Valencia Myers, 5-9 Jr. Nicki Ekhomu, and 5-9 Jr. Nausia Woolfolk.
Florida State University led 42-35 after three quarters and pulled away in the final quarter for a 62-45 victory. Florida State controlled the paint as they held a 38-4 advantage in points in the paint. Florida State shot 49.1% from the field including three of 19 from the three point line. The Seminoles connected on seven of nine free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 21 Eastern Kentucky turnovers. Eastern Kentucky shot 34% from the field including nine of 25 from beyond the arc. The Colonels connected on two of two free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 20 Florida State turnovers.
Kiah Gillepie led Florida State with 21 points and six rebounds. Valencia Myers added 14 points and 12 rebounds. 5-11 So. Savannah Wilkinson recorded 10 points and three rebounds. Nausia Woolfolk chipped in with eight points, eight rebounds, and three steals.
6-0 Jr. Catie Kaifes led Eastern Kentucky with 12 points on four three point baskets, four rebounds, and two assists. Abby Wright added 11 points including three three point baskets and two blocked shots.
