Lafayette made a late defensive stand to earn a 14-6 victory over Bryan Station in a game in which both teams struggled to move the ball.  Lafayette recorded 10 first downs and 145 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized 10 times for 86 yards and lost three fumbles.  Bryan Station recorded eight first downs and 96 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized seven times for 80 yards, lost a fumble and had a pass intercepted.  Lafayette averaged 2.7 yards per offensive play while Bryan Station could only manage 1.9 yards per play.

TJ Robinson led Lafayette’s ground game with 28 yards on eight carries.  Eligah Webb carried the ball six times for 25 yards.  Jaylen Lawson recorded 22 yards on five carries.  Corrnel Canada carried the ball four times for 21 yards.  Quinton Turner completed six of 14 passes for 47 yards.  Drake Nelson completed one of four passes for 23 yards and a touchdown.  JC Shegog caught two passes for 26 yards and a touchdown.  Teandre Newcomb added two receptions for 17 yards.  Teandre Newcomb returned two kickoffs for 73 yards with a long return of 57 yards.  Jaylen Lawson led the defense with nine solo and five assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.  Austin Blake added seven solo and three assisted tackles with 3.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards.  Jay Brank recorded four solo and one assisted tackles and recovered a fumble he returned 11 yards.  Elijah Stone scored on a 20 yard interception return.

Antoine Smith led Bryan Station’s ground game with 42 yards on 13 carries.  Kendrick Curry completed six of 12 passes for 43 yards.  DONdre Fish caught five passes for 15 yards.  A. Chestnut added 29 yards on two receptions.  D. Ramirez led the defense with 10 solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.  C. McKinley added nine solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 14 yards.  Kyran Campbell recorded five solo and two assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  DONdre Fish also recovered a fumble he returned 16 yards.
