Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-5 Jr. Tanner Johnson, 6-3 Jr. Ryan Reese, 6-7 Sr. Robert Dence, 5-10 Jr. Michael Talbott, and 6-2 Jr. Jarod Griffin. Tates Creek coach Wayne Breeden countered with 6-2 Sr. Ian Davis, 6-1 Jr. Desmond Duke, 6-5 Jr. Jordan Fucci, 5-11 Sr. Blake Rose, and 6-0 Sr. Tanner Hart.
Lexington Catholic outscored Tates Creek 19-5 in the second quarter on their way to a 67-52 victory. Lexington Catholic shot 51.1% from the field including 10 of 18 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 13 Tates Creek turnovers. Tates Creek shot 42.9% from the field including five of 13 from beyond the arc. The Commodores connected on 17 of 33 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 10 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Tanner Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 32 points including eight three point baskets. Michael Talbott added seven points and six assists.
Ian Davis led Tates Creek with 15 points and nine rebounds. Jordan Fucci also scored 15 points. Desmond Duke chipped in with 13 points.
