Bullitt East coach Chris Stallings started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Ashley Duvall, 5-9 Sr. Nikole Isabel, 5-10 Fr. Kylee Willis, 5-4 So. Emily Fryman, and 5-7 So. Taylor Blain. Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir countered with 5-9 Sr. Sandy Gahafer, 5-6 So. Raven Merriweather, 6-1 Sr. Jazmin Smith, 5-6 Sr. Erica Walsh, and 5-7 Sr. Jade Tubb.
Sacred Heart defeated Bullitt East by a score of 49-37. Sacred Heart took a 10-4 first quarter lead and maintained a lead throughout the game. Sacred Heart shot 33.3% from the field including one of 12 from the three point line. The Valkyries connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 25 Bullitt East turnovers. Bullitt East shot only 19% from the field including two of 10 from beyond the arc. The Lady Chargers connected on 13 of 23 free throws, pulled down 53 rebounds, and scored six points off 18 Sacred Heart turnovers.
Raven Merriweather led Sacred Heart with 19 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Jazmin Smith added eight points, six rebounds, seven blocks, and four steals. 5-7 Jr. Kristin Matula chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, and four steals.
Nikole Isabel added Bullitt East with 12 points including two three point baskets. Ashley Duvall added six points and six rebounds. Emily Fryman added six points and three steals.
