Lexington Catholic coach Chelsea Chowning started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Alex Botkin, 6-0 Sr. Emily Johns, 6-0 Sr. Elizabeth Walton, 5-8 Sr. Bonnie Rhule, and 5-9 Jr. Octavia Wilson. Paul L. Dunbar coach Sarah Van Horn countered with 5-10 Sr. Morgan McEldowney, 5-6 Jr. Lexus Edwards, 6-2 So. Brooke Todd, 5-4 Jr. Jordin Fender, and 5-4 Jr. Kierra Muhammad.
Lexington Catholic led 44-33 at halftime but Dunbar exploded in the third quarter outscoring Lexington Catholic 32-5 on their way to an 83-57 victory. Lexington Catholic turned the ball over 26 times tonight and only shot 9.1% (2-22) from the field in the second half. Dunbar shot 51.5% from the field including three of six from the three point line. The Lady Bulldogs connected on 12 of 17 free throws, and scored 39 points off 26 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 35.4% from the field including eight of 18 from beyond the arc. The Lady Knights connected on 15 of 18 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Dunbar turnovers.
Jordin Fender led Dunbar with 25 points and five steals. Morgan McEldowney added 14 points. Brooke Todd chipped in with 10 points. Kierra Muhammad recorded 10 points, six rebounds, three assists, and seven steals. 5-10 Jr. LaKeena Parks pulled down eight rebounds.
Octavia Wilson led Lexington Catholic with 14 points. Alex Botkin added eight points and 12 rebounds. Emily Johns and 5-9 Fr. Rachel Blake also scored eight points each.
