Providence IN  vs.  Louisville Holy Cross

 

Providence coach Brad Burden started the following lineup: Sr. Mackenzie Wilson, Sr. Alex Stiner, Jr. Nichole Tucker, Sr. Mary Graf, and Sr. Leah White.  Holy Cross coach Fred Copass countered with 5-9 Jr. Sydney Morabito, 5-8 Sr. Mya Hardin, 5-11 Sr. Julie Skaggs, 5-3 Jr. Morgan Wimberg, and 5-6 Sr. Kim Mingus.

Holy Cross raced out to a 21-2 first quarter lead on their way to a 60-33 victory over Providence.  Providence was ice cold from the field only shooting 17.5% from the field.  Holy Cross shot 37.7% from the field including five of 26 from the three point line.  The Lady Cougars connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 29 points off 22 Providence turnovers.  Providence shot 17.5% from the field including one of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Pioneers connected on 18 of 30 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 13 Holy Cross turnovers.

Mya Hardin led Holy Cross with 14 points.  Kim Mingus added 12 points and seven rebounds.  5-11 Fr. Michelle Fries chipped in with 10 points.  5-10 So. Josie Hockman recorded nine points and seven rebounds.  Kim Mingus was named Game MVP for Holy Cross.

Leah White led Providence with 13 points and five steals.  Mary Graf added six points and eight rebounds.  Leah White was named Game MVP for Providence.

Kayla Bale, and 5-8 Sr. Micah Jones.  Male coach Jeff Sparks countered with 5-8 Sr. Brittinee Jones, 5-7 Sr. Katie Watson, 5-9 Sr. Andrea Owen, 5-6 Jr. Jasmine Kraft, and 5-4 Sr. Taylor Messex.

Green County led 23-15 after the first quarter in a 50-39 victory over Male.  Green County shot 39.5% from the field including two of eight from the three point line.  The Dragons connected on 14 of 22 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 17 Male turnovers.  Male shot 37% from the field including one of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on four of five free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored nine points off 14 Green County turnovers.

Micah Jones led Green County with 22 points and eight rebounds.  Kayla Bale added 10 points.  Micah Jones was named Game MVP for Green County.

Taylor Messex led Male with 12 points.  5-7 Fr. Taylor Jackson added nine points.  Andrea Owen recorded eight points and six rebounds.  Brittinee Jones chipped in with six points and nine rebounds.  Taylor Messex was named Game MVP for Male.

Blackman TN  vs.  Pleasure Ridge Park

 

Blackman coach Chad Hibdon started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Kortnay Cox, 5-10 So. Micah Norris, 6-0 Fr. Alexis Johnson, 5-5 Sr. Chelsey Hall, and 5-6 Jr. Amanda Pollock.  Pleasure Ridge Park coach David Meadows countered with 5-11 So. Rayven Shead, 5-6 Jr. Alexis Stewart, 6-0 Sr. Courtney McIntyre, 5-4 Sr. Katrina Kuban, and 5-8 Jr. Kelsey Adwell.

Blackman trailed 34-27 after three quarters but rallied to defeat Pleasure Ridge Park by a score of 50-42.  Blackman shot 29.2% from the field including three of 19 from the three point line.  The Lady Blaze connected on 19 of 24 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 23 Pleasure Ridge Park turnovers.  Pleasure Ridge Park shot 41.3% from the field including two of six from beyond the arc.  The Lady Panthers only connected on two of 15 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored seven points off 10 Blackman turnovers.

Alex Johnson led Blackman with 21 points and seven rebounds.  Chelsey Hall added 10 points including two three point baskets.  Kortnay Cox chipped in with eight points.  Alex Johnson was named Game MVP for Blackman.

Rayven Shead led PRP with 14 points and nine rebpunds.  Shead was seven of eight from the field.  5-7 So. Paige Murphy added eight points including two three point baskets.  Courtney McIntyre recorded seven points and nine rebounds.  Kelsey Adwell chipped in with six points and nine rebounds.  Rayven Shead was named Game MVP for Pleasure Ridge Park.

Clarksville coach Brian Rush started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Bashaara Graves, 5-11 Sr. Chandler Cooper, 6-2 Sr. Tia Nicholson, 5-8 Sr. Jessy Ward, and 5-7 Sr. Tiasha Gray.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 5-11 So. Tereka Guyn, 5-9 Sr. Mary Logsdon, 6-0 So. Holly Huellemeier, 5-6 So. Audriana Christopher, and 5-8 Sr. Paige Eaton.

Clarksville proved they were worthy of their lofty reputation as they easily defeated Scott County by a score of 102-43.  Clarksville shot 50.6% from the field including four of 18 from the three point line.  The Wildcats connected on 14 of 19 free throws, pulled down 60 rebounds, and scored 30 points off 23 Scott County turnovers.  Clarksville held a 30-17 advantage on second effort points.  Scott County shot 22.2% from the field including three of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored six points off 11 Clarksville turnovers.

Bashaara Graves led Clarksville with 31 points, 28 rebounds, and seven assists.  Jessy Ward added 18 points and six assists.  Tiasha Gray chipped in with 17 points, five rebounds, and five assists.  Chandler Cooper recorded 15 points.  Bashaara Graves was named Game MVP for Clarksville.

Mary Logsdon led Scott County with 13 points and six rebounds.  Audriana Christopher added eight points.  Audriana Christopher was named Game MVP for Scott County.

The inaugural Allgood Hoops/Fern Valley Hotel RUN-N-SHOOT Classic featured one of the nation’s top 5 teams (Clarksville, TN) and one of the country’s top 5 players in Bashaara Graves (Clarksville, TN) and both team and player put on quite a show for the fans at Louisville Male High School, KY on December 10^th.  Clarksville (TN) defeated Scott County (KY) by a score of 102-43 with Graves scoring 31 points and hauling in 28 rebounds.  Graves who has signed with Tennessee will easily be a McDonald’s All-American this season.  Eight teams representing three states participated.  Below were the top college prospects for the event which was directed by Jeff Allgood of Allgood Hoops.
