Lexington Catholic coach Chelsea Chowning started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Alex Botkin, 5-10 Sr. Emily Johns, 6-0 Sr. Elizabeth Walton, 5-7 Sr. Bonnie Rhule, and 5-8 Jr. Octavia Wilson. Mercy Academy coach Mark Evans countered with 5-9 Jr. Victoria Dircksen, 5-10 Sr. Christine Roush, 5-11 Sr. Courtney Roush, 5-6 Jr. Kayla Richardson, and 5-7 Jr. Whitney Hartlage.
Mercy scored 25 points off 33 Lexington Catholic turnovers in a 61-51 victory. Mercy led 14-9 after the first quarter and maintained a lead throughout the game to earn the victory. Mercy shot 40.3% from the field including four of 16 from the three point line. The Jaguars connected on seven of 16 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds and held a 36-18 advantage in points in the paint. Lexington Catholic shot 37.2% from the field including three of 15 from beyond the arc. The Lady Knights connected on 16 of 24 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 21 Mercy turnovers.
Whitney Hartlage led Mercy with 21 points including three three point baskets. Christine Roush added 11 points and nine steals. 5-8 Jr. Caroline Keck recorded nine points.
Alex Botkin led Lexington Catholic with 15 points, 13 rebounds, and four steals. 5-9 Fr. Rachel Blake added 13 points and six rebounds. Bonnie Rhule chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets.
